Embarrass them in a fact-based way within the mainstream local media. Seriously, the Boston Magazine article may have worked because they were directly called out for being lousy owners in a well read publication. If we are able to do that in a clever way it could prompt action. Of course, the transfer window is closed so we are in free agent castoff land now.
Yeah, I was going to say something about the Boston Magazine article too. The Krafts don’t like public shaming about their franchises undercommitting. But it’s tough to target that kind of media attention - I’d love to, but I don’t see how one would do it right now. Thoughts, anyone?
I'm thinking an even bigger splash. Let's get a billboard for the Mass Pike in Brighton. $1500-$5000/month http://www.rsamedia.com/billboards/ Not sure of cost for aaphysical copy of the Globe would be. However, I think a Boston.com digital remarketing campaign where anyone who reads a sports article sees the ad could be effective. We would just need to build a website documenting our reasons for wanting change to point people to, create a display ads and then pay them to run it.
How about ambushing the sports radio stations with anti-Burns calls one day? You'd have to lie to the call screeners, but once you're on, you're on.
Do I smell a boycott @Mike Marshall ? Your #1 demand from 2012 is still as relevant as the day you published it. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/boycott-the-revs.1975794/
I just did some depressing math (I can't get Kraft's "over-achieving" term out of my head) and added up all the potential trophies the Revolution could of earned in their long storied history. Out of 22 years, the Revs have accumulated only 2 pieces of silverware out of 70 opportunities. (22 MLS Cups, 22 Supporter's Shields, 22 US Open Cups, 3 Superliga Cups, 1 Champions Cup) Correct me if my math is wrong but, like... that is nowhere near overachieving.
Unless they never expected to win anything, ever. In which case two trophies surpasses their wildest dreams!
I think that's too targeted and too small an audience. Let's go bigger. A billboard on the Pike right outside the city gets seen by everyone, including the news.
It would have a beautiful classic Boschian painting of a sea of redcoats skewering our hapless Revs in bloody awful ways. It would be titled: "If General Kraft had been in command at Concord"
"A dream without ambition is like a car without gas... you're not going anywhere." Refuel our dream, Mr. Kraft. [MLS Cup picture] Or even the theme of this thread "We hope to have a stadium announcement in 12-24 months" 10 years later.....still no stadium Support ambition, support another club. Another idea: This should be on your way to a revs game. Revs fans for new owners #KraftOut I don't know.. I'd have to think of something more pithy. The key is to not make it personal/attacking anyone but associate Mr Kraft with the Revs in a clever, perhaps funny and easy to understand way that promotes sympathy for revs fans.
“How to Kraft Apathy; a New England Revolution Story” —tickets sold at Gillette, free parking! An event 22 years in the making! (I should be sleeping... oh, man, the ideas you get when you have insomnia... . Think it gets the point across?)
How about a billboard on 90 near Logan: "Revs fans in a holding pattern for 22 years and counting - #KraftOut"
