Long time no see. Nojima has been occasionally playing some attractive games. Ohno, Tanaka Yoko and Kawashima have a good combination.
I hope this difference in style of play will transfer to National Teams: I would really like to see a USA-Japan 1-3 or better, with so many chances for Nadeshiko girls, at U-20 WWC a few weeks from now.
Member changes for Nadeshiko: Out Utugi due to injury Ichise due to injury Naomoto due to bad health condition In Doko Mayo Sugita Hina
Well, I am sad for Suzuki, but I has said before that I would have liked to see Fuka Kono in the roster, so I am happy that she somehow made it. I am well aware that she's a totally different player from Suzuki, especially by a physical point of view, so she surely isn't an exact replacement for her; I am persuaded that the coach will anyway find a good way to make use of her skills.
After she was subbed-out at 26' in the last Seattle Reign's match, I had the feeling this would have happened...
No Kumagai and Ichise = another experimental CB's pairing No Nakasato, Naomoto, Mizuho S. = 1cap Moeno S. and 0 cap Sugita as only classical playmakers left. (perhaps Momiki can double in Nakasato role) No Utsugi = Hasegawa is rather to stay on the wing. What to do with Nakajima then? Let her stay on the wing or go central along with Sumida? Hmmm... prediction vs. USA (subs) Yamashita Ariyoshi(Shimizu)- ?(no matter it's gonna be a hole in here)?- Sameshima Nakajima - Sumida Masuya(Kawasumi) - Momiki - Hasegawa Iwabuchi(Yokoyama)

I didn't remember that Nojima's youth team was called "Avvenire": I am always fascinated by how many Italian names there are in Japanese football (Leonessa/Leoncina, Speranza, Sfida, Stella...). In particular, "Avvenire" in Italian is a way to say "the future" (basically, it does litterally mean "the things that will come").
T.O.N. 2018 Kumagai...Utsugi...Sakaguchi... three 'old heads' missing could be crucial. I think the 'unwanted experiment' of finding yet another central defensive pairing capable of dealing with the evergreen problem of physically bigger opponents is going to be the most decisive factor in how well or not Nadeshiko do at this years TON. I do not fear for the performance of our midfield and our attacking capabilities remain as per AFC win but all could be undone if the middle of our defence is vunerable. My 'experiment' for what it's worth( in the opening game) would be Miyake-- Arioshi in the middle with Sameshima on one side and Shimizu on the other. I suggest this because Arioshi and Sameshima are the only 'old heads' available to steady the nerves and direct an inexperienced defence. However TON is three games in a week and other combinations will have to be tried. The shark does not like playing in the middle but I would play her there against Australia because of her speed. On a positive note this is a golden opportunity for somebody to come in and shine See you Thursday

I guess ToN will be very difficult, with all of these unexperienced, or less-experienced, players at this level in the team. Anyway, I am perfectly ok if the experiment ends in a shaky performance as last year, as long as the final result next year in France is the same as the one we had at Asian Cup this year! On a more serious note, it could be a chance to try some much needed different solutions, as @Manchester Nadeshiko pointed out!

It would have been nice to see more than one Nojima player get called up. Nothing would make me happier than to see them pull of the league this year just to draw attention to the talent they have. Probably won't happen, but it would be nice. I am not sure what Arisa Minamino has to do to get a call up! I am glad they called up Sugita, but I thought with the Utsugi getting injured they might go for one of the Nojima midfielders. Yes I support Nojima, so I am biased.
That is so sad.Fouls occur, but If this misguided individual is advocating that U14 players be taught that they can deliberately foul opposition players and that it is a legitimate 'part of the game' then the game is dead and buried.
I really do hope that's some misunderstanding (on my part) and in general, especially when one is dealing with the youths, certain findings (like in case of this study) are promptly and properly explained and discouraged as they stand in big contrast to fair play golden rule. Unfortunatelly, the ends justify the means approach seem to be growing in numbers lately in WoSo...
