Shūkan Gendai.. a weekly magazine of the somewhat less-than-serious variety. There are several similar ones, and they largely appeal to male office workers, although the readership is mixed.
By the way, Urawa's captain had been Michi Goto so far; she isn't going to retire I hope, is she? Also, Saki Ueno is quite young to be a captain!
We often complained that, compared to 2011's National Team group, too few Nadeshiko players get international experience in leagues overseas. Well, according to one of the NWSL threads, Yuri Kawamura has been invited to a pre-season camp for North Carolina Courage (the club previously known as Western New York Flash, now re-named and re-located in another state). NC Courage still have 2 international spots open, so it's not impossible that Kawamura ends being signed by the NWSL club. Should this happen, it would surely be good for her personal career and for National Team. It would be of course less good for Mynavy Vegala Sendai Ladies and for their ambition of fighting for the title...
What would also be interesting is why she is getting exposed like this. Is there a related article explaining what is going on?
Oh, yes, I now remember that she had come back to her former club. I remember how difficult had been for her to leave it, back in the days, when she had transferred to JEF United Ichihara Chiba Ladies, and we had even seen her shed some tears about that, if I remember correctly. Now, she's grown up, as she even considers going to play in the USA.
Hi, guys... any idea about what the new "exciting changes" to the forum that will be implemented in the upcoming "Site upgrade" will be? Does anyone know a mod to ask something about it? Frankly, the forum, for me, it's perfectly ok as it is, and I fear any changes. Last time there was an upgrade (I guess it was 2012 or 2013), it was an endless process, with a long and painful migration of the old contents (and some of them went definitely lost in between). -_-"
Hello dear friends this will be a bit off topic but I wanted to introduce myself. I am a new member. I am from Germany and a fan of Nadeshiko Japan since 2011. My favorite player is Homare Sawa. However, I follow the Nadeshiko League and also this thread only since august last year, so just before the u17 WWC in Jordan. That's why I do not know very much about the league and the players. But I've done a lot of research the last few months. Now I have decided to join the team. I hope we will have a nice time together Thank you very much
The warmest of welcomes! Your avatar made me smile and strenghtened my belief that Sawa's fandom will last way beyond the end of her active career as a player. (By the way, this makes me think that we didn't know much more about Sawa's daughter, so far: she's really secretive about her private life ). If you're familiar with the thread you know that we talk about everything, even if it's just remotely related to Nadeshiko football. Among the posters there are some old fixtures (as myself ), but we constantly need the injection of new blood!
Thank you for the welcome, Blissett . Yes, i am familiar with the thread. The atmosphere here is great. And I know that you and the other members are very nice people. The next days and months, I will have many questions about the league and the players. And I hope I will not bother anyone
Welcome to the family! You are in a good spot this year, with two Nadeshiko games coming up in the neighborhood and a good number of japanese players in Germany. If you are lucky and attend games with several japanese, Saki Kumagai may stop by to say hello to friends. I have seen that happening.
Thank you very much. I know it's a good opportunity for us. The opponents are the netherlands (once again ) and belgium, if I am not mistaken. Yuki Nagasato (Frankfurt) and Kozue Ando (Essen) are not far away for me. But I've never seen their games live in the stadium. Maybe I will change that. Especially when I have the chance to see Saki Kumagai
What did the guy say towards the end of the interview that made his collegue yell at him? Anyway, I want Yoko Tanaka back in Senior National Team circuit!
Yoko Tanaka is a special player. She has a lot of talent. And this season is very important for her and her club. I think she will be called back to Nadeshiko Japan again, if she can lead her team well. Just like Yokoyama did last season. I am very excited By the way, here is a nice video about the u20 team from 2012. Of course with Yoko Tanaka and Kumi Yokoyama and many other well-known faces
Yes, we need more TanaYo.... I guess I should watch more league games this season to be able to judge her better....
The memories!!! That team lost badly to Germany, but, man, it was a joy to watch at times! Do I remember well that Nozomi Fujita came back from retirement to help out Okayama Yunogo Belle in Division 2?
