Do I remember well that INAC had already gone very close to lose to Waseda in one of the latest edition of Empress' Cup? I seem to remember a close 1-0 win in 2016 or 2015...

Anyway, now I'll have to choose another team to root for for the rest of the tournament. Not easy. I could go with "prettiness-factored" JEF United and hope for a "double" (Nadeshiko League Cup + Empress' Cup). Or I could hope for Yoko Tanaka to finally wake up and lead her team to the final victory (ok, this one is much less likely! ).

Not sure if I want to root for them, But I got a feeling that Urawa is a much more well-rounded team, now that they can sport Kozue Ando...

 

Aussie W-League update:

- Melbourne City-Newcastle Jets 5-2 (Aussie League always has this sort of crazy scores! ). Kinga's side won (she played the first 80' minutes of the match, mostly as an advanced MF), and their offense looks bright with Fishlock, but their defense leaves a lot to be desired...

Oh, Yamane is back! She's probably doing quite well in Real Betis? We don't have many news from Spanish League... KAP, anyone?

Also Momiko Matsumoto is in again, given Takenaka injury (that I have to suppose is quite serious now). I wonder if she's going to get any playing time.

I have to notice the return of Ayumi Oya. Iwabuchi and Ueno are confirmed.

Please, someone enlighten me about next NT matches: we're going to have EAFF Cup at the beginning of December, aren't we?

She also scored in last week-end's Empress' Cup match, although Iga lost to Albirex.

In France, Division 1 Féminine is on break, not sure why (the friendly match vs Germany seems still quite distant to me ). Norwegian Toppserien is finished. So this only leaves us with: Frauen-Bundesliga update:

- On Sunday, VfL Wolfsburg-1.FFC Frankfurt 1-0. In a match dominated by Polish star Ewa Pajor, the decider was an early goal by Pernille Harder, but Frankfurt never looked like they could actually get back into the match. A draw by leaders of Freiburg leaves them anyway at 4th place at just 4 points from the top and at 3 from a Champions' League spot. There will be easier games than this one to try and catch up with the top positions: let's hope Yokoyama will help with her goals.

And if I am not wrong, the friendly match vs Jordan should be on Friday the 24th of November at 16:00 local time (that should make for an optimal 15:00 in Italy, that should give me the chance to comfortably watch the game. As long as there is a streaming feed, of course: will the match be aired in Japan? If yes, by which channel? Any early indication of a possible streming feed from that channel? ).

 

Mmm, I'll have to see the kit worn by the players in its entirety (with names, numbers, etc.) to make an appropriate assessment, but at the moment I am still not enough used to it and I am not a big fan of the vertical dotted lines...

The model in the photo you attached makes it beautiful anyway, though.

 

UEFA Women's Champions' League update (2nd leg of Round of 16 played this week):

- on Wednesday, Olympique Lyonnais-BIIK Kazygurt 9-0 (for an absurd aggregate of 16-0! ). Saki Kumagai was rested on the bench for the whole match. In the next round there will be no restrictions based on nationality, so OL could get Montpellier in quarter finals (not that this should worry them, given how they have beaten in France League; but it happened in past years that PSG, after getting a spanking in the league games, took their revenge in Champions' League... ).

- Today, Manchster City-LSK Kvinner 2-1. The Norwegian team is out of the tournament, with an aggregate of 7-1, so just one Japanese player remains in WCL from now on. Ryoko Takara was at least given 20' final minutes of playing time, since she was subbed-in at 70': her last match for the team?
