Saturday's game was a total disaster of horrible defending. I rather see us in CCL thou , it's a major deal for the club and most fans agree with me.

Serious question, would you rather see them play in the CCL next season and not make playoffs or vice versa? I don't think the team has the depth yet to play in two possibly three cups at the same time (MLS, US Open, and CCL). Once they have an NYCFC 2 team then maybe but not until then.

Saturday's game also made me realize how much not having Iraola in the midfield makes the teams defense tank. He's a major reason the team is playing better but was sat for rest I guess. The more the season goes on the more see the need to let Pirlo go next season and get yourself either a destroyer DM (De Rossi?) or a playmaker in the Lodeiro mold youngish and someone who send through balls to our wingers and Villa. Pirlo is just not productive enough to justify his lack of D.

I hear you but if they make a run next season in the US Open there is a chance of playing in all three during the summer. Most MLS teams call in MLS 2 players for these matches, we don't have that. Hell next season the Hammerheads are closing up shop which means we don't even have an affiliated team to send players for games let alone bring players in. No once we have have more depth do I think we should aim for the CCL until then I don't want to play in any tournaments that would possibly cause us to miss play offs and a chance at a championship.

I'm pretty sure you get money for participating in the CCL. And that extra cash will always be needed with how our team is structured salary wise.

I think it's pretty important we finish in top two. Anything can happen in the playoffs, and that extra rest could make all the difference with our old players.

You get a travel stipend per match and you get 500K for winning the whole thing. You only get prize money once you enter the semifinal round which would be hard considering you'd have to play a good Liga MX team and even that is only 200K. That's not even close to big money and the team's chances at playoffs would be compromised if we did play in it.

The team is 11 points clear of the "red line" they're almost a lock to get into the playoffs. The remaining games are all winnable and the still have a great chance at getting second place which would give us a bye in the playoffs. Just relax and enjoy the fact that this team is making playoffs and getting better since last season. I'm excited about the idea of Vieira having a year under his belt and having possibly 2 new DP players being brought in to play in his system because honestly Pirlo doesn't really compliment it and Lamps is too old honestly but his production recently has been appreciated.

I'm assuming this will look more like a 4-2-3-1, but still a super weird 11.

Friendly seems like a giant waste of time that we don't need before the playoffs. Especially traveling all the way there.

Edit: Mix has been let out of the dungeon

While I'd agree that going all the way to mexico was unnecessary I still think this type of game is helpful, they wouldn't have played a game for around 2 weeks which is waay to long for a team on a hot streak. These types of games help avoid being rusty which could kill the momentum we have right now. Thankfully no one got hurt and Johansen showed well in the game (I still think he needs a look on the first team) .

Nervous start. Probably going to be a game we need to win on the counter. DC are going to be very aggressive as they are in must win territory at this point of the season.

Let down from the team today, they need to regroup and win against Columbus on Sunday. Winning on Sunday locks us into the 2nd spot and that gives us a bye week before playoffs.

Really poor performance all around. The midfield lacked any kind of energy or hustle.

Only positive is Villa keeping up in the golden boot race.

Yeah, thankfully TFC tied and that coupled with the RBNY win means a win on Sunday and we get a bye week heading into the playoffs which is awesome. We just need to win next Sunday and with Columbus having nothing to play for its very doable!
