from Twit, no source given: BOOOOOM! VfL Wolfsburg will announce the signing of Yuki Ogimi next week! So she wants to win the CL again.... for starters.
Aaaaaaah!!! The most charming girls in France!! Guingamp is not very close to Lyon... Saki and Ami won't have much time to visit each other, apart from these holydays. I suppose it was Ami coming in Lyon to see old team-mates.
Very very interesting. There were rumours about that, but now it's official. I guess that the fact that VfL Wolfsburg, arguably the strongest club in the world right now, decided to sign her is a testament to the strength of Yuki as a player and to the consideration she's given on the international scene. Also, the fact that Wolfsburg needed to sign a big international can be a sign that Nadine Keßler won't be back very soon from her injury? (this, by the way, could also affect Germany at WWC).
Ndsk120 uploaded this video with interviews about Nadeshiko Japan National Team's 2015 season, taken before the Empress' Cup final, at HT and after the match. They include Yukari Kinga, Tomomi Miyamoto, Norio Sasaki and Kyoko Yano. It would be interesting if someone could translate the more important things that have been said...
If I read Full Bloom correctly, they should be in Division 2. They won their League and got promoted to Challenge League.
But isn't now Challenge League = Division 3? If I understood correctly, next year we'll have: Nadeshiko League 1 (= Division 1); Nadeshiko League 2 (= Division 2), with the upper part of last year's Challenge League + Kibi; Challenge League (= Division 3), with the lower part of last season's Challenge League + some teams promoted from regional leagues (including Seagulls) + some clubs that couldn't be eligible for promotion in Nadeshiko League 1, as Tokiwagi Gakuen High School, thus not able to compete in Nadeshiko League 2 anymore. So, yes, Yokohama Seagulls will play in Challenge League, but, if I understood correctly, Challenge league is now Division 3, not Division 2.
According to Wiki's formidable mishi586, here's how it is: Nadeshiko League Div.1 (from 2015) Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies (Saitama) NTV Beleza (Inagi, Tokyo) Albirex Niigata Ladies (Seiro & Niigata, Niigata) Okayama Yunogo Belle (Mimasaka, Okayama) JEF United Ichihara Chiba Ladies (Ichihara, Chiba) INAC Kobe Leonessa (Kobe) Vegalta Sendai Ladies (Sendai) AS Elfen Saitama (Sayama, Saitama) Iga Football Club Kunoichi (Iga, Mie) Speranza F.C. Thank you very much, Frideswide! Now, everyone can choose his favourite team(s) in each Division! Just out of curiosity: I suppose Nippon Sport Science University L.S.C. is the translated name of Nittaidai Football Club Ladies? Also, it's a shame that strong teams as JFA Academy Fukushima and Tokiwagi Gakuen High School had to play in Division 3 for eligibility issues: don't they risk to dominate the whole league?
At the beginning of the year, as usual, we get the High School Championship! We recently talked about all the drama in it, and this tournament also sports some high level players, as U-17 World Champions Hina Sugita, Fuka Kono (Fujieda Junshin), Rikako Kobayashi and Nana Ichise (Tokiwagi) and other very good players, as Tokiwagi's Akari Shiraki, who was just signed by Japan's Champions of Urawa Reds Ladies. The first round was just played today: Virany showed some nice pictures of main players and, according to Full Bloom Guidebook, figures of attendances were quite impressive for a youth tournament, at least for the "biggest" teams as Tokiwagi, Fujieda, Hinomoto... It's true that normally all of the school-mates are there supporting the girls , but anyway I don't think it's easy to pass the 1.000 people mark: the Hinomoto match had an audience of 1.000, Tokiwagi had 1.100 and Fujieda had 1.200. And Fujieda weren't even home! (Probably it helped, though, because Fujieda's traveling fans joined local team supporters ). It happened sometimes, this season, that some minor Nadeshiko League matches had problems in reaching the 1.000 people mark! And we're just at the first round of the High School Championship: what kind of audience can we expect for the final match?
Wow, I didn't remember that High School Tournament had back-to-back matchdays in consecutive days! Yesterday the 1st round was played, today we already had 2nd round... According to Full Bloom Guidebook, all the favourite teams won their matches: Hinomoto Gakuen, Fujieda Junshin, Tokiwagi Gakuen... Judging from the photos on Virany's Tumblr, Shonan Gakuin High School should be considered between the favourites also, but maybe it's only due to the fact that Virany particularly likes a player called Sena Mamyo... Anyway, the question should be settled in the quarter-finals, because one of them will be Hinomoto vs Shonan. It looks like this time the girls will have at least one more day to rest, because quarter-finals are planned on the 6th. Then again the semi-finals are on the following day, the 7th! The final-match must be deemed of the greatest importance, because there will be even 4 days of rest! Final match on the 11th. Just a little more than one week (8 days) between first round and final match: this youth tournament is tighter than a World Cup!
More HS photos! Enjoy watching this tournament as the passions run very high!! Some interesting translations from the Fujeida Jenshin roster: 1 GK Yoshihara cherry 4 DF Daimon purple 10 MF Sugita Princess WA 11 FW Shimamura friend Princess child 15 FW Yamashita history of China 16 DF Okutsu thanked vegetables 29 FW Suzuki vegetables together
I bet this girl's first name is Sakura, that means "cherry" in Japanese indeed. Well, nothing wrong here: Hina Sugita is a Princess, isn't she? Oh, Hina Sugita has anyway a friend-child in the team? History of China? Is there a traitress involved?
Now THAT is a great roster. A cherry girl. A purple spirit. The Princess of the entire state of Washington and her best friend. A Chinese historian, and the vegetable sisters. That is what champions are made of!
Well, it's official, Ogimi goes to Wolfsburg. Announcement on the DFB website here. No details as to when exactly. Credit for this information goes to hotjam2 on the Bundesliga for American & foreign fans thread. Wolfsburg has such an abundance of great players though. She may still have to fight for a starting position.
I ask because I honestly don't know: in Frauen-Bundesliga the salary of professional can be disclosed or it isn't public info? I'd be curious to know how much Yuki will be payed for this 2,5 years' contract...
in 2011 the average was about 50,000 per year, if that much, in 1st league. Kim Kulic got 60,000 not much compared to Schweinsteigers 13 million playing same position. It all depends on the club and audience/media interest. Some of the ladies are also soldiers in the German army and get funding/salary from there.
I once heard the expression "sports soldiers" but did not totally understand it. Are these full-time members of the military who are given time to play for a club or train for a specific sport? Are they funded solely by the military or can they get additional payment from their clubs?
