Fred is a bigger knob in my opinion.
It's one thing to be fooled. It's another to fool other people.
And Sepp as well... still wondering why they can't afford an 2 additional officials at the goals that'd have the reverse angle and provide better decision making.

id say hate the game dont hate the players. i can understand that the players will do everything within the rules to try to win so fifa have to alter the game so that players are dissuaded from diving. they should provide better resources for referereng like the two officials like u said or video technology

Diving isn't within the rules though. It's cheating...
Having just one official making all the calls with only his own eyes has never been a very good model. In a penalty box there is potential for the line judge to contribute, but he's often very far away and his view obscured as well.

This World Cup has a huge amount of awarded penalties so far. Referees are easy to foul.

    BTW, excellent officiating today.
Thank god he was euro... oh wait he was Mexican. Meanwhile the European in the QF let the Brazilians get away with murder.

True, that Mexican guy also let Suarez get away with biting though. Another case where a ref behind goal would've seen it I guess.

When you've only got 3 sets of eyes (four if you include the 4th official), hard to see something happening off ball... that happens a lot when a fight breaks out somewhere else on the pitch.
Zidane's headbutt in 2006 comes to mind, IIRC the linesman was the one who saw it.
The linesman should've seen Suarez too since it happened around Italy's back line ...but don't think the main official should be blamed for not having eyes on the back of their head.
