Did anybody else beside me get the impression that this match was fixed? I dont mean in the usual way - "influenced" by refs with dodgy officiating, but rather - actually fixed by the two teams to decide the result in advance? After Sagan got three goals the keeper seemed to almost deliberately miss the shots by Yokohama to let them score four. On one play he even seemed to even pull his hand back to avoid touching the ball. Something seemed VERY strange about that match. I had the same strange impression in Kofu's 0-0 draw with YokoFC on Oct 3, but I thought maybe it was my bias affecting my opinions. But this one - I could care less who won, and I enjoyed seeing lots of goals. But I just didnt get the feeling that it was a "real" game - everyone seemed to be "acting". Anyone else have that impression?
I didn`t see that particular match but the same could be said of Verdys game against Fagiano. The Fagiano goalkeeper got called for time wasting on the edge of his own box in the first half when his team were LOSING!! Free kick in a dangerous position, not capitalised on. The Fagiano keeper also seem to be more than a little shy when it came to making saves.....sometimes I do believe it happens unfortunately.
How is Koki Mizuno going ? I know the rehab is long but maybe he's featured on some magazines and we have some details 'bout how it's going.
Does anybody thinks Verdy got a chance of promotion already this season? With the news of the new owner they got alot of things to be happy about at the moment, and they are only 6 points behind 3rd. Both Avispa and JEF have shown some signs of variable form over the last month or so, so if Verdy can keep it up its surely possible isnt it? They are gonna play against JEF at home in November, and the following week they are up against Avispa away. If they at that point are still only 6 points behind, or have managed to narrow the gap even further it will be two very interesting matches.
They are allowed, given that they return the money they loaned from J.League. The exact rule will be sorted out at the end of the month.
6 points behind, Avispa have a game in hand, if everything went Verdy`s way they could overtake one team but I`d say its unlikely that both Jef AND Avispa would both capitulate AND Verdy would win every game to from now to the end of the season. Not impossible..but unlikely regardless of any post season J League decision. Unlikely but....what a story if they make it!! C`mon You Greens!!!
They're saved, but I don't see why you shouldn't make the trip if you can. I plan on going to a few of their games over the 2011 season, particularly during the big matches.
I hate Chofu.......Ajinomoto is a horrible place to watch games. The stands are really far away from the field and the trip is a pain in the ass from Urawa. I'm still not against going but if I can weasel out of it I will!
Yup, Chofu must be one of the worst stadiums in Japan considering it was only built 10 years ago. The older stadiums with the tracks are also awful but they were generally built pre-J League so they are forgiven. With regards to the upcoming JEF game, I fully understand about the ballache of a trip I hate it too!!
YAHOO!!!!!!!!! Ventforet Kofu just registered Milan Kabe (Yamanashi Gakuin HS striker) as a category 2 player, and expect him to join the senior team next season! Which means that next season, Kofu will unveil the "Twin Towers of Yamanashi" offence. Be afraid Be VERY afraid
That's good news, one local hero for Ventforet, and he will taken good care of, hopefully. Personally, I am not afraid... Since Ventforet and Sanga will still be in different divisions next season...
Kazu wants to play until he is 45... http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/news/p-sc-tp0-20101027-694773.html
couldnt be much better time (ok Sunday maybe) to have 19th vs 18th in J2: http://www.giravanz.jp/homegame hope for fans they wont see "horrible" match
Update: now he has changed his mind: he says until 50... http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/news/p-sc-tp0-20101028-695140.html
Not enough seats on the bus? The serious guess would be that the rest of the players had a game elsewhere.
If I was God, I'd put Hisashi Kato in a room, and I'll make him watch Paulinho's free-kick in Chiba until his eyes bleed.
And by the way, there were 3,500 Ventforet supporters in Chiba. Congratz Matsu, when I'll come visit next summer we will watch a J1 game, this time...
