Kazu did it again. And he played a full 90, that's even more impressing.

I love Yamanashi! I imagine parts of it are similar to Hokkaido.....they both have pretty decent sized farming and Yamanashi has possibly the best soft cream in Japan IMHO!

I don't remeber "diversity" being that big of a deal when some were excited over the possibility of 4 Kansai teams in J1.

And Kofu won again so it's beginning to look a lot like J1.

If you're referring to me, that was pure selfishness: three near by away games for Sanga, so screw diversity in that case! :)

Now, my bad karma will be possibly punish me, and Sanga might be the only club in J2 next season--serves me well! :D

    Magic numbers for promotion

Kashiwa needs 12 points to clinch (or JEF and company to lose 12 points)
    Kofu needs 20 points

(The maximum that 4th place JEF can get is 75 points, therefore any number over that will clinch promotion) Giravantz Kitakyushu and Kattaler Toyama are assured of spending one more year in J2. Fagiano Okayama is eliminated from promotion contention with a loss, a win by Avispa Fukuoka or a combination of one tie by both squads.

FC Gifu, Ehime, Consadole, Mito, Thespa, Oita, Fagiano, Kattaler, and Giravanz have been mathematically eliminated from title contention. Tochigi will be eliminated with a tie from Kashiwa, a tie, or a loss.

What was Tsuchiya thinking? Didn't anybody tell him that you can't score for Verdy if your last name is not Takagi...?

    What a family!

Apparently they also have a brother named Daisuke who is supposed to be another great player who plays for Verdy Junior Youth.

It would be pretty amazing if they all ended up playing for the NT at the same time.

Their dad must really hate baseball or something.

This is an old one, and rather funny.

When the commentator is told by Takagi Sr. that the boy is his son, she seems genuinely surprised...

I saw a commercial where JEF promote themselves as:

    "JEF United Ichihara Chiba"

Have they changed their official name again...?

And speaking of J2 clubs, did you know Kyoto Sanga is not officially in Kyoto? The club is now legally tied to four suburbs in the south of town: Uji, Johyoh, Muko and Nagaoka-kyo. Not sure why.

So will Kyoto Sanga force a namechange upon themselves at relegation?

Uji Johyou Muko Nagaoku-kyo Sanga FC?

I think it is more like "Urawa Reds" vs "Urawa Red Diamonds". People uses Urawa Reds in the media and among the fans, but their official club name is Urawa Red Diamonds.

Thats the official team name, and has been since the move to Chiba (Fukuari).
Not only that, but the official name of the youth team is JEF United Ichihara Chiba Youth. Or if you prefer acronyms.......

    J.U.I.C.Y.!!!

Sagan vs Yokohama FC: 3–0 → 3–4 → 4–4  Why, oh why no one is broadcasting that...?

Separate kudos to Kaio who scored a brace.
