We finally got a great longball out of the back and Hayakawa blew the touch to go alone on goal. Unbelievable.
And Kawaguchi taken to the cleaners for goal number three. Wow, I can hardly think of a player I've ever seen have such two contrasting halves of play.
You know what is bad. I think Japan is in general better. Just this is idk what this is...really sad to see this
It doesn't look good with 30 minutes to go, but all that's worth doing for them is to try to take one back.
This could get much uglier. Kawaguchi, for whatever reason, is totally out of gas, he has no legs left. There is no steel in the midfield and they are pouring right through the middle of the pitch at us every time.
Are you kidding me? Are these kids even aware that the idea is to kick the ball into the net, not exchange as many passes as possible around the 18-yard line?
The problem is that we lose the ball with us moving forward. So every attack (as we lose the ball every time) ends with a counter attack. And Minamino... well this was the best chance out of play... gone.
Just look at that attack, now that was a display of skills but in the end not even a shot on the goal...now that means something is wrong, especially when it happens again and again
Also perhaps a quicker defender would have been needed. Anyway does not matter now. I think we can congratulate them for their spirit and performance on this U17 world cup. It is just that they will need to gain more confidence in themselves and I am sure that day will come. As Japan progresses and progresses and someday their main team makes makes it to the final of World cup
