Must have missed that Heinemann didn't have his contract renewed with the Caps at the end of last MLS season. He's landed with fellow former Battery player Nicki Paterson in Ottawa. http://www.ottawafuryfc.com/news/de...signing-tom-heinemann-and-sinisa-ubiparipovic

The first two Whitecaps that look to be going on loan are Jackson Farmer (Residency) and Marlon Ramirez (PDL squad). Neither of these would count against the 4 that the Whitecaps MLS side would have to loan, though Farmer could be a homegrown signing for the Whitecaps that hasn't been announced yet (he has already gotten a full international cap for Canada). http://www.whitecapsfc.com/news/2014/02/caps-portland-rose-city-invitational
http://www.whitecapsfc.com/youth/eliteteams/residency/jackson-farmer Jackson Farmer (centre back): Farmer, 18, joined Whitecaps FC in September 2011 after a successful youth career in his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta. The dependable centre back, who wears the captain’s armband for Whitecaps FC’s U-18 squad, earned his first cap with the Canadian senior men’s national team in September 2013. Marlon Ramirez (midfielder): The 19-year-old Honduran midfielder joined Whitecaps FC’s U-23 side last summer from C.D.S. Vida of Honduras’ top-flight soccer league. With the ‘Caps, Ramirez has appeared in the MLS Reserve League as well the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Premier Development League.
Not sure who they are but NASL's FC Edmonton turned down 2 players offered on loan to them so they may be coming to the Battery : http://the11.ca/2014/02/24/fc-edmonton-turns-down-a-couple-of-loan-offers-from-the-whitecaps/
Met both the Vancouver players here so far. Farmer was very interested in the area and had a few question about the beaches and downtown. He also seems to be a big College basket ball fan but unfortunately the local college plays there last match Saturday night. Don't think he will make that one.

Perez becomes the first new signing for the Battery ahead of the 2021 USL Championship season, joining 15 players returning from the 2020 campaign so far.
Just learned that Black Baud stadium is being demolished. What happened? I have many memories there. I am a friend of Lazo Alavanja and when he played for the Battery I would go to Myrtle Beach from Chicago many times and take a day to watch a Battery game at Black Baud. So much fun! I even saw the USWNT play there one time. I used to always talk to Mikey when I was there. Too bad.
ben goshorn @TheSoccerGoose 17h “End of a era. The seats are being removed at Black Baud stadium, the first modern-era stadium in the United States designed for soccer. The stadium will be demolished next week and metal sold for scrap.” @drewontarget Hate to see this place demolished. So many memories.
So sad.....I made a trip down to SC to watch the final game at Blackbaud in 2019 (before social distancing). It was a special moment when they said farewell to the stadium with a 5-1 win that clinched a playoff berth, and then I attended the Regiment player appreciation picnic afterward. The year I'm looking forward to the most in the Battery's future is 2026, because of Interstate 26. If we won something that year, it would mean the world to me!

Now, he just needs to win an occasional match with all the money they have put into this season's roster
