So you want people making less than $10K a year to pay federal income taxes. Why? Whom does that help, exactly?
Depends on the context. Successful in many respects. Not successful when compared to, say, my last game of poker.
No - anyone making 17 grand and above. How does it help to let the Bush tax cuts expire on those 250,000 and above when it nets 87 billion? The deficit is over a trillion. Where does the rest of the money come from? No one has answered that yet!
It is beating the hell out of the 2008 alternative, and the 2012 model alternative might even be worse.
Arresting the recession before it really bottomed out was probably a good thing. Though opinions differ, obviously. How many people are in this chair?
Well, this is the Obama FAILURE thread. Can't you read? But since you asked...there's a whole website about this: LINK Some quick research: Signed New START Treaty - nuclear arms reduction pact with Russia Repeal of DADT. Came out in support of marriage equality Signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, restoring basic protections against pay discrimination for women and other workers Launched recovery.gov to track spending from the Recovery Act, providing transparency and allowing the public to report fraud, waste, or abuse Provided the Department of Veterans Affairs with more than $1.4 billion to improve services to America's Veterans Signed the Children's Health Insurance Reauthorization Act, which provides health care to 11 million kids -- 4 million of whom were previously uninsured Now, I know these are things that "help people" and are "fair" and "right" in the moral sense of the word...so they're probably gonna cause you an allergic reaction. But some of us voted for him hoping for these things and we're pretty damned pleased, thanks very much.
That is opinion. No facts. Is it forty months of unemployment over eight percent. 16 trillion in debt. 23 million unemployed/underemployed. I guess there aren't any good things like that - huh.
Why $17K? How is that a magic number? So you're asking why not get 10% of what we need to close the revenue gap? I hope you don't run a business. The reason why asking those who make 17K to pay federal income tax makes no sense is because: a) it makes taxes more regressive, b) it hurts the economy, and c) the amount realized is negligible. None of that holds true with the taxes on those making more than 250K.
Interesting, from your posts one would think otherwise. Regardless, because the majority in Congress are bent on making him a one term president rather than legislating he did this... http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/15/politics/immigration/index.html Also, feel free to use this as a (but not the only) response to your question about Obama's successes. You have my permission. No, no need to thank me.
