Frankly it doesn't seem to be that the game was officiated in a way that showed any kind of prejudice against: - Leuko deliberate elbow at 4' could have legitimately seen as a direct RC and it wasn't. - The first goal was clearly an intentional back-pass: the blame was on Cameroonian players, the ref couldn't do anything but calling it; and if Cameroon's DF actually spat on the opponent, should have been cautioned too (couldn't rewatch the video, because it's geoblocked in my country). - White appears to be on side from the VAR and Duggan on the upper part of the screen is clearly not influential to the action. I can't see reasons to complain apart from frustration.
There were a couple hundred of them on the #GERNGA hashthread. Rather than dignifying them by pasting any here, I'll point to the entire thread. Scroll through. To be fair, there were also a couple hundred Nigerian fans who chided those fans as poor sports, and accepted the rulings as fair. And I don't think those couple hundred hotheads are representative of all Nigeria fans. I dismiss all those who cry "racism!" (and more grandiose conspiracies) as nuts and kooks
Basically every post from you in yesterdays thread exuded of racism boiling down to Germany would get favorable decisions because they are Germany and not Africa
Never seen such emotional players men or women...The coach has a hard time controlling his own players...They are becoming the laughing stock for the world to see
Yesterday, injustice has been done to Australia by the ref but they kept their cool...classy Aussies...
Well, there will be more accusations coming given the disallowed goal. I thought she was on. It should be 2-1 right now.
Aye. Considering the horror show that went unpunished when they played Japan 4 years ago (Japan won, but Cameroon should have gone down to 9 players with the number of reckless and cynical tackles they did), I have little to no sympathy with Cameroon as a team. That off-topic detour being said, the English Ds are getting overwhelmed right now.
48' 2-1 Bardsley long clearance to own 35m wide right, intercepted by Enganamouit. Forward pass to Onguene at arc top wide right, she crosses through 10m center for Nchout up centerline, one-touch blast into 1/4 right back high. VAR check ... 48' 2-0 ... no goal, Onguene's right toes were offside by a shoe length Cameroon remonstrate at sideline, causing a delay ... OFFSIDE! VAR rules out Ajara Nchout's goal and Cameroon's players are incredulous. #FIFAWWC pic.twitter.com/O0Flu9gApY— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) June 23, 2019
You're out of your god damn mind if you thought that was an intentional backpass in the first half. Cameroon is getting jobbed. They are a rough team and kinda suck, but the referee bought into a narrative from the get-go.
England has looked very weak and disorganized in back all tourney long. England not at all composed. Norway must be licking their lips.
