i don't think there's any doubt that Barca want him and are willing to pay the release clause.

the question at this point is what does Griezmann want? all the power is in his hands right now and he will probably have a number of lucrative offers on the table besides Barca's and Atletico's. it won't be an easy decision for him. last summer it looked like he would join ManU until he changed his mind. so nothing's for sure until he makes a decision and makes it official.

 

He did say he wants to know where he'll play next season before the World Cup. If he's good on his word then the good thing is we will know one way or the other in the next 10 days or so.

 

Well he should already know he is coming to Barca if he agreed to that, but Barca can seemingly not make that official until July 1st comes around as his buyout does not reduce to 100M until that time. If he convinces Atleti he is not resigning with them they might agree to conclude the sale for 100M before July 1, but Barca has probably spent too much this year to do any more spending till July 1 anyways due to Financial Fair Play so even then no check cut till July.

 

I mentioned your point about so many other suitors a few months back but others were adamant it was a done deal !!

but the rest of the world might not know until its made official, which might be early July or might not be until after the WC...
