Someone on Youtube made a vid saying that in case Almeyda leaves that the replacement for him could be Marcelo Gallardo from River Plate lol. Sounds bogus to me.
Having won a Copa Libertadores and given his meteoric rise as a young coach I would have expected Muñeco Gallardo to have had a few European club offers by now. He clearly surpasses Almeyda in wins. However, if he hasn't had any offers then I don't see why not. Chivas would guarantee him a nice check. He can always return to Argentina if things don't work out.

He already turned turned down an offer to coach Chivas - he was going to replace Almeyda after a poor start of the season. This was when Chivas brought Jaime Ordiales as sporting director. They were hoping he would lure Vuce to Chivas just as he had done so at Queretaro. However, 'King Midas' turned down the offer because he didn't want to work with Vergara. Said that the Chivas owner was responsible for his short stint with the national team.

Almeyda won't get the job unless he has a stellar season next year. Mohamed and Piojo have been more consistent and have better numbers.

Chivas offered to extend his contract for another 6 months with no raise, Alanís declined the offer knowing his contract would end during the summer and therefore be a free agent. Higuera decided to sent him to train with the Liga Premier team... Almeyda said he was done with him too...
It was simple. "Chivas" mistreated him gacho. He had 6 months left in contract. "Chivas" wanted him to sign an extra 6 months, he said no, and they sent him to 3ra. This is pretty fucked up.
