MOD NOTE: The first 70+ posts in this thread were copied from 'dolo's final player thread in the main YA forum: http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads...aching-cherundolo-at-hannover.1127313/page-33 While Cherundolo just announced his retirement, this thread can stay open and active! Cherundolo has been named "co-trainer" of Hannover's U-23 team and will be getting his coaching licenses ASAP. He is staying with the club.
Serious question..........Would you call him Coach or Mayor Cherundolo??? What's appropriate?? Really though, I'm excited for this new chapter of coaching. I think he will thrive as it seems like a natural fit.
The Mayor turned Coach: Cherundolo at Hannover I am sure someone can come up with a better thread title for @bungadiri or @Friedel'sAccent
15 years is astounding. What's been his best performance with the club? How did he even join the club? Is he still underrated to the eyes of many US fans? Is he set for a testimonial now then?
Great title and even better news. Since I am in an airport on my phone I will leave it up to @Friedel'sAccent to do the honors.
Take out the papers and the trash Or you don't get no spendin' cash If you don't scrub that kitchen floor You ain't gonna rock and roll no more!
I hope he gains experience in coaching at hoff then comes back and becomes MLS youth coach. We need more guys with his background here
Would it not be more beneficial for him staying over there and upping the interest in US talent, primarily younger players.
Some speculation that Hannover might be considering sacking their head coach tomorrow. They've won only 1 of their last 9 Bundesliga matches, and only 4 of their last 23. Over the most recent 23 matches, they have averaged 0.74 points per game and are now in the midst of the relegation battle.
