I like Cam Newton, but he should just shut up sometimes and not say the first thing that comes to his mind. Case in point, yesterday's news conference. @Sudžuka
Yeah, the words he used were poorly chosen and he lost some perspective saying that he can't compared to anyone else. I mean, there's a black QB in the hall of fame already, who went through much more to prove himself than Cam has, and there have been other successful black QBs before him. And just because the media highlighted a couple idiots that wrote letters to newspapers or wrote facebook posts doesn't mean that there's a large racial animus against him. If he wins the Super Bowl (which I kinda hope he does), he'll be on every commercial.
I think the majority of the hate he receives is racial animosity, espically when he's "so in your face with his blackness" for a lack of better terms
I usually don't mind it especially if you do good work outside the game(which apparently he does..big on charity and stuff like that). We have a guy in the NHL(PK Subban, who loves Newton) and he's very much like that with his personality. As long as it's not going overboard it's all good. You do have to keep in mind that you are a role model to young kids so there's a limit to everything imo. Check this out..

Yeah but they've done a pretty bad job protecting Newton so far. Broncos easily getting through and within first few seconds he's down. Needs a bit more time. Are taunting penalties called that often @Sudzuka? Haven't seen NFL game for awhile but guys do that often and you don't see it called most times.
Second quarter but yea.. I think some magic in the 3rd and 4th will make this for a very interesting end. I can't watch it though, every year i try but it's just too boring for me. Too much hype for a game that just isn't that exciting to watch. Run for a bit and then stop for like a minute plus, then run for another 10 seconds, then stop for another minute...Commercials will be the best part of this.
