U have to wonder how the schedule was set. I would have had Australia & Japan play in Seattle putting the two teams coming off the long travel against each other in the first match.

So, basically, US Federation implemented two different "SheBelieves", an "Atlantic one" and a "Pacific one"? :)

It would be all so perfect, if only Brazil would face Pacific Ocean... :coffee:

Not USWNT related, but thought this was interesting. Tuzos just won the Copa Liga MX Femenil 9-1.

While it helps with travel for the visiting teams in both cases, u don't want to playing in the Mid Atlantic states in early March and don't need to be on the West coast in Summer.

It depends on where you are on the West coast. San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, and Seattle ordinarily all would be fine.

You sure as shit wouldn't want to be playing in the Mid Atlantic states in summer. Unless you have a death wish.

The rainbow number jersey announcement came on May 26, the day after the roster announcement. So if they are the reason she withdrew I'm not sure why she'd wait until now to make that decision. I would like to believe that she'd have better "personal reasons" for dropping out [especially with such short notice] than that.

Portland should get a game at some point, but I'm not sure November would be the right time of year -- usually, we're well within the rainy season by then.

US will host New Zealand on September 19th in Cincinnati.

FINALLY! It's been 9 effing years since we got a game here!

ETA: First game against the Kiwis will be on the 15th in Colorado.

Yeah it's been ages. Didn't they also locally broadcast that last match on WKRP?

USWNT matches are my favorite things in life...announcements of USWNT matches are my 4th favorite things in life. Doing that Colorado to Ohio trip just like last year. Ohio definitely getting some love here lately - Cleveland, Columbus now Cinny.
