wait wait, i dont like it no more, if you look closer the stars are everywhere, not just at the top, they are just dark stars barely visible through the navy blue, dang, im out waiting for WC kits then
you're right. I didn't notice that before. This is going to be a loud brash kit, I love it! Can't wait to see the shorts that go with them, they'll probably have lots of stars too. Not that I'll be buying the shorts, no 'full kit wanker' here.
The subtle stars around most of the kit actually look really cool IMO. I hate the stars on the shoulder though
It's over-the-top Merica, but that means I'll buy it. At least this looks like a USA kit, unlike the things we've seen since the 2014 WC.
I'm getting one for sure...not sure if I'm going to put a name/number on it though with the Gold Cup roster we'll have. Maybe put "San Diego" and "10" on it for the first time.
...and you guys havent even seen the giant eagle holding a beer and a machine gun across the entire back yet
This may already be my favorite US jersey. If we made this one the away jersey, the waldo the home jersey, and variations on the classic sash as the third jersey, I'd be content. We'd finally have a uniform identity that honors the country and the flag.
This is going to be a shirt that I pass on buying, then in a year or so I'll decide I want it because the WC kits will be ugly, then I won't be able to find one for less than 150 bucks.
Um, no. Replace the blue stripes with white to give us back the iconic Waldo jerseys, then Nike would have my forgiveness for their recent atrocities. Otherwise--we are NOT Barcelona.
Red ✓ White ✓ Blue ✓ Stars ✓ Stripes ✓ Full-color crest (absent on at least three USNT kits since 2014) ✓ Not an unmodified Nike template ✓ I can dig it. I'll have to see what it looks like on the players to see what kind of presence it has, but this appears to be both the most unique and the most distinctly American-looking kit Nike has produced in a long time. Too bad the USWNT won't ever get to wear it [I'm assuming?]. Nike still owes them restitution for making them play through 6/7 of a World Cup [including the championship game] in a black, white, and highlighter-color kit with no red or blue.
I will agree that Nike has a lot to atone for. White stripes would look better but I do like the sleeves. The stars and blue variation do seem to differentiate the jersey a lot more than the Barcelona knockoff leak that appeared the other day. Also we might as well enjoy having stars on the USMNT jersey because odds are they won't be appearing above the crest anytime soon...
To be fair, the Barca hoops kit they had a couple years ago wasn't really Barca either. This reminds me of the original concept that was floating around when the Burn rebranded as FC Dallas. It's a shame they never went with it.
I want our classic look back. White shirt with Navy Shorts and red and blue details here and there. Waldo's are cool but they'll get old looking fast.
