I think what rkupp really is trying to say is, that Silkeborg would never let him travel abroad in mid season, unless it is almost a done deal... Silkeborg know he is not happy and they are obviously keen on getting him sold, otherwise he would never be allowed to make this trip. I'm quite positive that a Danish Superliga club would regard it to be too unprofessional to let players go on regular trials (that may lead to nothing) outside the summer/winter breaks, because it makes players lose focus and disrupt the preparations for the next league match. This NT break is on the other hand the right moment to finalize a deal that is practically done. .
Paper mill? Did you say paper mill? Methinks it is time for a certain very savvy businessman to have Rand-Whitney or International Paper Products purchase Silkeborg IF lock, stock and papermill. Revolution fans get their striker and a European-based partner-club for the Revs... Bob Kraft acquires a business asset that actually causes dollar-signs to dance before his eyes.
Not too sure if he'd be so keen on the Socialist Business atmosphere over there...especially with the 1 yr off for maternity leave, and that's for Fathers!! LOL
I know you are just joking.... but more seriously, then the reason why the Silkeborg managemet are not all too happy about club deficits eating up all the paper mill profits, is because they have been looking to expand their paper mill production quite substantially.... but they need more than just a few million $ to do that. .
He is a left sided version of nyassi. lots of hustle but not very dangerous around the box. Nyassi 2010 New England Revolution MLS Regular Season 28 27 2,297 3 2 39 11 33 45 3 0 2009 New England Revolution MLS Regular Season 28 22 1,940 2 1 28 14 17 23 1 0 rogers 2010 Columbus Crew MLS Regular Season 20 17 1,547 1 0 40 9 17 31 1 0 2009 Columbus Crew MLS Regular Season 22 20 1,709 1 5 37 13 24 41 2 0 pretty similar
I wonder how much Warzycha's system has hurt Rodgers. He was an MLS Best XI pick the year they won the Cup in Sigi's last year. Sigi goes to Seattle, and Rodgers has been lost ever since. He's significantly more talented than Nyassi. If the price was right, I'd bring him in.

Open roster spots, a need for depth, cap space....from what I know, Rogers prefers the left but can play on either flank.

The kid has speed and some foot skills but that is really about it. He has no nose for goal. In the end Tierneys 1 goal and 4 assists last year was better than Rogers and Tierney played a bunch of minutes in the backline and is cheaper.
Nyassi is fairly dangerous. More than anything, it comes down to the decision he makes with his final ball in the final third. That is something that any young player struggles with. He still opens up a lot of space on the flank. You don't have to score tons of goals to be a dangerous winger. Their main job is to stretch the length and width of the field to open up defenses and spread them thin. He does that fairly well.
The wingers/outside-mids are not the problem with goal production. It's the guys playing up front. Nyassi provides plenty of space for those guys playing through the middle, they need to finish and create chances. Of all the problems the Revs have, Nyassi is far from the top of that list.
agreed which is why I said "around the box". he creates space in the midfield and draws defenders to him but he, like Rogers, has issues in the final third or around the box
Not to mention that he draws a lot of fouls, creating set pieces which are very important for this team and its lack of goal scoring ability in the run of play.
