Anyone heard anything on it? The Bigsoccer shop tells me they are getting a new one. Have we gotten a new sponsor or retailer?
The current Ireland jersey has only been out for just over a year, well, 1 year and like 4 months. The away jersey hasn't even been out 1 year. Interesting to see if we actually get a new one.
Yea, I also found it strange. I pmed the shop to see when they would get some for us to buy, and the person said they will be getting a new one and expect it in May.
Just had a thought, this figures. The FAI change jersey every 1.5 years. The jersey that was worn during the last world cup came out in August 2001, and was gone by March 2003. That jersey was then replaced in September 2005 by the current jersey. And in April/May 2006 we'll have a new jersey. Works out, so they aint lying.
Have you heard anything of a new sponsor/retailer? I am tired of Umbro. You can't find that anywhere. Nike would be much better.
This(the new jeresy) could be the last Umbro jersey, supposing that it's even umbro at all! They've had umbro jerseys now for almost 12 years, unless there was an extension signed in that period, we could bery well have new sponsors, I've never heard of a deal running that long without an extension. I'd love Nike or Adidas, I mean, if teams like Slovakia(Nike) and Leichtenstein(Adidas) can get big sponsors then why not us. Unless they really think we're THAT bad.
I actually like the Umbro jersey. Everyone else has cookie cutter Nike and Adidas Jerseys. I'd like to see a Kappa jersey in the future.
I thought Andy Reid looked fat in Spur's Kappa kits, that'll be a nightmare for him if they sponsored us.
Considering the new Nike jerseys I would love for Ireland to have their own personalized style of jersey. Kappa? They were the ones who gave Italy those cyclist jerseys for WC 2002. Also Puma might be good, but their WC jerseys are absolutely hideous.
