When are we going to get a new International coach (like the women)? Canadian coaches have no clue at the International level. U-20 = no goals. Latest Gold Cup = no goals (oh yeah.. 2 penalty kicks...). No offence. No clue. No hope. Is the great hope to acutally 'qualify' for a WC, or to acutally do something when there? We need a new CSA, and a new Coach/Staff. A WHOLE NEW MENTALITY! Thoughts?

The CSA is being reformed over the next couple of years. Really, the only thing we need is a better coach for the men at all levels. Hart is a good guy and has some knowledge but he just isn't up to the job of getting us into the world cup.

We need someone who can take the talent we have and build a system that works with the players, not the other way around. Whether that coach is Canadian or from abroad doesn't matter, we just need someone who can build a stronger tactical regimen for our teams.

The CSA reformed? Only if they all quit. The women had to threaten to boycott games before they gave in. Until Canadian fans DEMAND better, this is all we will get. They are like FIFA, they will only change if forced to. Only Euro or South American coaches can revamp this VOID system, and put some life in it. We have NO OFFENCE. And its been this way for many years...

Right, the elections process is going to clear out a number of the board of directors who are running the CSA into the ground, and a reforms package has already been passed to put an end to the provincial squabbles constantly playing out there.

As for a national team coach, nationality doesn't factor into it, and shouldn't be the main criteria in any search Canada conducts for the CMNT. The major problems with our coaches have been that they don't use tactics and formations that play to the strengths of our top players, making it difficult for an offense/defense/anything else to function, and that there is no national technical directorate to ensure a consistent "Canadian style" of football is being taught in youth clubs across the country.

The current soccer structure in Canada is a mish-mash different systems of play, and this is reflected in the players, coaches, and clubs we develop. It simply isn't conducive to a strong national program, as the top players it produces aren't players who will necessarily fit well together, or into whatever system the national team coach devises. (As seen with Hart's 4-5-1)

New Ratings out today. We are 83 rd in the World. 83rd. 7th in Concacaf. Yikes. The purpose of a new Int. coach would be to bring in his system from top to bottom. Surely, for the right money there is a German, Holland, Brazil coach who could and would do it. Where is all the sponsorship money going every year? Surely not on coaches...
