Generic diagonal lines with no particular connection to anything that the fans embrace...this would fit perfectly with other MLS efforts of late.

There was another one that somebody did that was pretty nice. It had a shield shape like the one above and the cross from the NE flag dividing it into 4 parts. One quarter had the ball (cleaned up, similar to the one above), one had an outline map of the 6 states, another the pine tree, and the 4th 1996 or something like that...

At this point, I'd be more interested in talking about the Pats' logo, I much preferred good ol' Pat the Patriot (and Steve Grogan, a QB playing with a neck roll, what's better than that?). And while we're at it, what about the name Red Sox, I mean, Sox with the -x is just clumsy, hard to do anything with it, why did they ever pick that? That should be changed. Never mind the Bruins - sure, we have black bears in the region, but not brown bears, why name the team after ...

Minutemanii, your response is lamentably predictable, I'm afraid.

If/when the crest gets updated I would like to see it fall into the category of "impressive and cool" and not "merely better than the current one". Unfortunately, the two above and other mock-ups I've seen around the inter-webs I would place into the latter category.

Hey a-hole. Don't follow this thread if you don't want to talk about it.

In Rev-it-up's defense, he may have come to this thread for the same reason I did at first -- the headline doesn't say anything about ideas for a new crest -- it looks like it might be a preview of an actual one.

Check your funny bone then. It got lots of reps. Like British humor, you know it's coming, and every time it's funny.

This should significantly speed up the process in the next rubbish logo post. You're welcome. newlogo1.jpg

Total waste of time even discussing this. As with the Patriots and their Elvis logo, they aren't going to change the present logo.

I think I'm one of the few diehard fans that would like to keep the preset logo but I'm not sure to agree with you that they wouldn't upgrade the logo to a more traditional badge---if---they rebound when they open their ev SSS. Lots of "if's". For now I think discussion of a change has about as much importance as a tic-tac-toe tournament.

I also like the present logo. Haven't seen anything I like better for the Revs

Same! It's so goofy and random that I'm now more fond of it. Like the Pat Patriot logo, it isn't the most sophisticated and perfect but it now has some history, hence equity.

I also think that soon it will go from slightly embarrassing to very kool retro. 20 years seems to do that to designs. Funny how that works.
