I really try not to think about the Rapids and what will happen in the CCL this second time. That is thinking about the 2017 version of the Rapids in the CCL. Three months is very quick turnaround to not only have a new coaching staff in place, but also about 10 new players as well. (Pádraig stated they'd like to bring in 9-11 new players. I assume this means by February or so.) But like a broken record, I have to keep stating that Pádraig understands what needs to be done and is doing so behind the scenes.
This is the problem with missing the playoffs. It's not extra time to make moves for the future, it's just extra time to suffer the results while we wait...
And thinking about how it went last time. That did not go well. Geez, I forgot those games were starting in February. I think in the Round of 16 teams from the same association will be prevented from playing on another. (I wonder when the draw is.) So that leaves as possibilities for the Round of 16 matchup (if they allow LigaMX and US teams to play): Pumas, Chivas, America, Tijuana (all LigaMX) TFC, Saprissa (Costa Rica), Herediano (Costa Rica), Tauro (Panama) Motagua (Honduras), Olimpia (Honduras), Santa Tecla (El Salvador), Cibao (Dom. Rep.? Wow.)
I don't see Rapids putting much effort into CCL this year, way too much change going on to expect that.
I think they have to and that needs to be part of the appeal for recruiting players (and the coach). I'll be angry if they blow it off again.
They haven't announced the details of the draw under this new format, though implied with the news of the Costa Rican team taking the place of the Guatemalan team (Guatemala was suspended from international competition by FIFA at the deadline for qualifying) as a "wild card", meaning it can be drawn against another Costa Rican team, is that we can't be drawn against another MLS side.
New Zealand's play off first leg broadcast information. So we want the coaching to look awesome but the team to lose? ;>) http://www.livesoccertv.com/match/2619294/new-zealand-vs-peru/ 11-10-17, beIN Sports USA, 8:15 p.m. MST
Just the first leg but a one point loss and then a draw would be enough to make it be some other reason for Hudson to not end up in Commerce City.
0 - 0 In Wellington. Wednesday in Lima is the second leg. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-peru-battle-to-0-0-draw-in-world-cup-playoff https://www.google.com/amp/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/41860130
https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/footb...t-the-all-whites-but-the-media-is-not-so-sure Can add that archbishops seems to be the pundit in Peru? He went on to say 36-year-old Hudson got the better of his 59-year-old rival. "Hudson beat Gareca. The technically inferior team's game plan was imposed, and Peru did not find a way to overcome it. Controlling the ball is not controlling the game, and Peru didn't have many situations on New Zealand's goal. New Zealand executed better at the back."

It's easy-ish to fly north to Denver from Lima. Just sayin'........ Has the official clock started yet?
Didn’t see a thing in these games that makes me think he will bring the “beautiful game” to Denver. Funny that he would be interviewing even before his side was eliminated, again not a trait that I want in a coach. Guess we will see how this goes
