Division II is looking at re-seeding the teams that reach the Elite Eight. Seems like a small change, but it is the first time that a bracket-team sport will not have all rounds pre-determined at the selection date. Currently the Elite Eight pairings are set on a fixed cycle (seven years, I guess). The D-II Management Council meets October 19-20.

That makes a certain amount of sense, since the elite 8 for DII are all in the same place, whereas for DI they're playing for the regional titles and the right to go to the Final Four (insert registered trade mark sign)

The D-I equivalent is to re-seed at the Final Four (trademark, copyright, registered, patent pending); and you can even re-seed at the four regional levels (the round-of-16).
