We are moving on from Mitre to Umbro ÚLTIMA HORA | Las selecciones de fútbol de El Salvador serán equipadas por UMBRO: https://t.co/BGqFkV0Q49 👇 pic.twitter.com/hDkY7EvIg0— EL GRÁFICO (@elgraficionado) February 2, 2017
Finally one of my favorite brands too for soccer jerseys. This is good news this is better than Atletica, Mitre, Joma, and Milan Hopefully they make a nice design for the national team.
Así vestiría la Selecta a partir de julio con Umbro http://www.edhdeportes.com/articulo/selecta/asi-vestiria-selecta-partir-junio-con-umbro-139788
Would prefer those 82 versions, with 'ES' over the left breast instead of the logo and Umbro can be on the right instead of the other company logo (i think it was adidas?)
It was Adidas for the world cup uniform. I don't know if I would like for them to go back to the ES. If they do go back to it I'm hoping it's going to be high quality patch. Not a heated plastic prints like most of the patches on Salvadoran club jerseys. Heated plastic patches look pretty cheap for a international jersey (example: Atheltica's El Salvador jersey). The ES is a pretty old look now and doesn't seem like any work was put into it. The current ones I don't like either it's two patches in one. National teams in CONCACAF with timeless yet maintains a modern look in my opinion are Canada, Mexico, and the previous USA patch. Other ones that look pretty decent are Nicaragua, Jamaica, and Panama. They just need to come up with a completely different patch that stands out and gives a modern look. Some of you might say you rather see the national team play better. I think most of us in here do but we would also like our players to look professional too.
Personally I like the ES and would prefer if say a retro jersey was made to coincide with the regulars and use them in matches against certain other countries like say Mexico, Honduras and maybe USA keep the list short and sweet or if it ever were to happen Hungary.
To add on about the professional look. Little by little they should do things to make the environment for the professional soccer players from the 1st division too feel professional. Big stadiums aren't needed exception from Cuscatlan and Magico Gonzalez stadium. Look at small stadiums from Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and so on. They're small but modern looking. Santa Tecla seems to do a good job doing that. Aguila now trying to go in that route too. Modern sports equipment too. Hopefully for the national team Umbro will give them not just soccer balls and training uniforms but also modern training equipment. Not like those wooden free kick wall they use. I do know Umbro will pay some money to the federation unlike Mitre. The more professional it is the more players will strive to play better and fight for a spot to play for their club or national team. Here's a video in the link explaining about what they know so far with Umbro and the national team: Análisis | Selecta, nueva camisa y fogueos http://www.edhdeportes.com/articulo/selecta/analisis-selecta-nueva-camisa-fogueos-139907
Guess who's back in the country, wonder if they will be keeping an eye on him. http://www.elgrafico.com/2017/02/08/deportaron-al-exseleccionado-nacional-miguel-el-mudo-montes
Better late than never. Not like he would've made much of difference under Maradiaga or Roca with the way our team played then. Looks like Lara has been unsuccessful in trying to get hold of Perez. I think we know what the answer was going to be anyway. EDIT: I'm surprised Perez wasn't called up to USA's U-20 squad for 2017 U-20 WCQ...
Most of the European Players were not released by their clubs because this tourney isn't Fecha Fifa. Btw the USA is on the verge of being eliminated from the tourney next game, I only hope for it so Honduras can possibly poach 2 players and maybe you can do the same for Perez.
Surprised about Perez? No. As for Amando Moreno, it's probably still to early for him to want to switch over to us. He's playing games with the Tijuana seniors and did get called up to USMNT last year (though he didn't play), so he's probably waiting for another chance with USMNT.
doubt that Bruce Arena calls him up even for the Gold Cup, dude doesn't have enough experience to get called up for them yet.
I was under the impression that you weren't allowed to have friendlies against teams that you are going to face in a tournament.
