All these rumours are coming from foreign media, never from Saudi media. I wonder why? The only way Nasser will be replaced is if he loses to korea in KSA.
Looks like things turned sour when he said his players lacked "mental strength," a phrase that does not translate well into Arabic -- people in the UAE probably thought he was saying the players were mentally retarded. I don't think the Saudi FA is interested. They basically make all the team selections themselves and sometimes even order the substitutions, so it looks like they've decided to skip the foreign middle-man and rely on obedient FA employees like Al-Johar instead.
"I don't know my future at this moment," Metsu said during his brief meeting with the media at the UAE Football Association headquarters on Monday afternoon. However, the rumours have been quick and loud that Metsu has already reportedly been offered a contract to take over the Qatar national squad from Uruguayan Jorge Daniel Fossati. It is believed that Fossati is in the process of parting ways with Qatar due to personal reasons and the Qatar Football Association has made the offer to Metsu. http://www.gulfnews.com/sport/Football/10246954.html
I'm not sure, i'm not sure if he is still coach aswell, according to Wikipedia it is someone from Hungary, but i'm not to sure.
From the Qatar website: Jorge Fossati leaves post http://en.qfa.com.qa/topics/index.as...71&temp_id=346 Qatar football association has officially terminated the contract of Uruguayan Jorge Fossati as the national team coach. Chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani announced on Tuesday. Fossati's departure was based on mutual consent, especially with the 56 year-old facing serious health problems escalating to see him going under the knife last week, he stated "am aware of how difficult the situation is right now, as a coach; I had no tolerance what so ever with any player who is not 100% ready, the same goes for me". Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamad said that the identity of the new head coach will be unveiled soon; he noted that Frenchman bruno metsu is so far the most probable option to take the job.
New coach for UAE DUBAI: France's Dominique Batheney, the assistant of previous United Arab Emirates coach Bruno Metsu who resigned, was named the new boss by the UAE football federation on Thursday. Local press reports said Batheney had a one-year contract though the federation gave no indication in their statement, which said Batheney would "begin his post at the head of the national team on September 25". Batheney's task will be to lead the team in qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa, the AFC Asian Cup finals in 2011 in Qatar, and the Gulf Cup, starting on January 14 in Muscat, Oman. Metsu standing down after the UAE lost both of their opening matches in the final Asian qualifying round for the 2010 World Cup. Batheney, who had temporarily taken charge of the UAE team in 2005 during the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, leads the team in an important World Cup qualifier in Korea Republic on October 15. In their build-up, they meet Japan on October 9 in a friendly. http://www.the-afc.com/eng/articles/viewArticle.jsp_168132608.html
New Coach for Qatar As expected: DOHA: France's Bruno Metsu, who resigned as United Arab Emirates coach at the weekend, was on Thursday named as boss of the Qatar national team. The two-year contract was signed by Metsu in the presence of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, the president of the Qatar football federation, during a press conference with other high-ranking Qatari sports officials. Qatar have little time to waste in preparing for their third match in the final phase of Asian 2010 World Cup qualifiers in Australia on October 15. Metsu knows Qatari football well having coached first division club Al-Garafah in the 2004/05 season. Metsu resigned as UAE coach on Sunday because of poor results and was replaced on Thursday by compatriot Dominique Bathenay. The 54-year-old Metsu had been coach of UAE since June 2006 and won the Gulf Nations Cup in January 2007. Previously Metsu had been Senegal coach, leading them to the quarter-finals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals in Korea Republic and Japan. http://www.the-afc.com/eng/articles/viewArticle.jsp_168132611.html
