"Dominating" is being very generous they are doing very well though but I wouldn't call it dominating.
But what if it isn't? Even though Rocco has said Palmer and Silva are with him on his plan they have been pretty silent themselves. Palmer's Division Zero plan is pretty much exactly the opposite of what Rocco proposes (build clubs up then focus on division standards) and I wouldn't be surprised if he really wasn't on board with the Rocco plan.
Commisso wants to buy A.C. Milan now. Wonder if this means he’s throwing in the towel with the American game? https://acmilan.theoffside.com/2018...isso-reportedly-interested-in-buying-ac-milan
Interestingly enough, I’m seeing a number of people wondering if it gives him more clout with USSF.. He’d be going from 2-bit owner of a lower division league in a middling federation, to a top club in a top league..
Just did some research. Forbes currently values the team at $612M, but the current owners value of the team is twice that. That is a lot of cash to burn. Can’t imagine Commisso would continue shelling out money to the courts, Cosmos, & NASL if he buys them.
Highly doubt it. Financial it wouldn’t make sense to juggle owning a European superclub, owning an American team, building a league/system by scratch, & lawsuits in the US courts. But what do I know.
That’s because the Chinese owners took out a loan to purchase AC Milan, and that loan has a ridiculously high interest rate. The loan is due to be paid off this summer. The owners were banking on making the Champions League to pay off the loan...... that’s the cliff notes version. AC Milan is in dire straights as a club, and also has a roster full of bad contracts as well. If he thinks the Cosmos were a money pit......
Top club? Years ago, yes. These days? Not so much. 2012/13 was the last year they finished in a Champions League position. The highest they've placed since then was 6th. Genoa, Sassuolo, and Atalanta have all finished as high or higher than Milan has since then. They are still a well known and popular club but they are not among the heavyweights of European soccer right now. And I doubt that Commissio is going to have the ability to change that.
Oh please. A mere decade of failure doesn’t make them stop being a top club. Just look st Arsenal and Liverpool.
The funny thing is that there are quite a number of Americans owners who own large teams in Europe who don't even do anything with USSF or SUM. If anything, they work with Relevant Sports when they come here. Outside of Kroenke, they don't have a relationship with USSF/SUM/MLS. I guess Donovan/Holden/Steve Nash as minority owners have some relationship as well. (With minimal googling) Teams that have American owners in Europe. England - Manchester United, Arsenal, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Swansea, Barnsley, Fulham, Sunderland, Millwall, Portsmouth, Coventry City. France - Olympique de Marseille, Nice, Le Havre, Italy - Roma, Venezia, AC Reggiana Spain - Majorca
The difference being that thebothers haven’t shown any interest in US soccer.. Thatnisn’t the case with Commisso.

So he's willing to invest $612 million in Italian soccer, but only $290 million (The $37 million he's lost so far, plus another $250 million of his own money) in American soccer? GTFO
