No one knows. It might have been NASL related, it might not have.

I've also heard it could be USL related. So who knows.

USL would definitely make sense at first glance given USL has an actual western division (and the Quakes will need a new affiliate eventually). But USL has the same issues NASL has with regard to venue, venue location, cost of making a venue happen, etc...

Maybe is is ASL related? http://www.aslsoccer.org/home.php

The ASL would have a west coast team faster than the NASL! :ROFLMAO: This is the wishful thinking thread right?

Cause some of the owners think if they get D1 statues and play in the same cities as MLS they'll instantly get the revenue MLS gets from TV and sponsors.

I'll believe this when I see it. We get quite a bit of announcements for announcements that never happen.

Well the Fire haven't had the success that MLS had thought. They are stuck in bridgview for the next 15-20 years and due to mismanagement the fire have been losing which give them a bad image in a area where most of their teams are known to be winners. If the sting ownership does things right and find a stadium downtown or close enough they can overtake the fire fast.

...and knowing a bit about Chicago, just for giggles, where would these stadium sites be, and what would be the obstacles...my educated guess is there would be a couple.

It's so easy to do things fast on the internet.

Darkwing, why do you always post that the NASL believes it can quickly match MLS revenue streams? We all know that if it ever does happen; it will take decades, [I'm taking the over].

You know better than to take all shpeal seriously, right? Especially from Petersen, right? You know that they are businessmen, with accountants? Why harp incessantly on silly statements?

I'm also not joking. What's the skinny with Hartford? I know they lost their soccer guy, but not the money guy.

    Perfect place for NASL IMO.

    Silence is deadly.

We can look to Golden Balls U for that!

I always link to where I'm getting info on either board, whether that's big soccer, reddit, Twitter or another site on the web. Nice attempt at a personal attack though.
