Well, crap. Sorry about that. Thanks Yoshou. I've fixed it as well. Just so stupid mistakes aren't left floating around.
Or, unless Atlanta has already bowed out, again, and is looking at '13 to finally make it in ("No, really; we're in, guys! Honest!").
That would be an interesting rumor considering CSA has put in a 10-month moratorium on approving Canadian teams for US leagues...
Yes but its possible this team has been approved if it is ottawa. The oseg (Landsdown Live) group has said they would like to bring pro soccer and they said that some time ago.So it is possible this is ottawa and it has been approved and 2013 would be about when the stadium would be done.
If it was approved, why wouldn't they announce it? Not saying it isn't Ottawa and now that I think about it the CSA moratorium may actually explain why NASL has the stealth 2013 team. So... I'll just shrug. There have been several Canadian owners linked to NASL and Ottawa's owners are supposedly one of the investors propping up Minnesota, so who knows. I'm sure there's a lot of backroom wheeling and dealing going on in the CSA HQ right now.
I am just saying its one rumor making the rounds it may have no truth to it we will see.If it is ottawa and as for why they have not said anything it could be they want to wait untill the legal issues are done with between the city and the group that took them to court.
New news from the reserve league front, now that its official. Taken from the MLS website. In addition to participating in the Reserve Division, MLS reserve squads may also schedule matches against other teams, including NASL or USL-Pro clubs.
Has anyone actually attended a MLS reserve game? Ever? It may not be the popular thing to do but IMHO the MLS really just needs to pick either the USL - Pro or NASL and invest in the clubs. By getting there reserve players a high level of playing and training time (and the level of Play between Div 1 and Div 3 in the US is really not that great) it will not only improve their game, but the level of the game across the board. Having player X be available for Chicago at any time but playing for Atlanta day in and day out in front of 2 - 3K is the only way to go. Sure reserves are a great idea but lets be honest...they are little more than scrimmages. Playing in a real game with passionate fans (and lets be honest the casual fan of the game does not go to D2 - D3 games) makes a better player.

IMS reported the other day that Ottawa is NOT involved with the Stars: http://www.insidemnsoccer.com/2010/...ecision-could-effect-future-for-nasl-and-usl/ BQ is normally very good about obtaining and reporting this kind of D2 activity correctly, so unless the team or league officially states otherwise, I tend to believe it. Somewhere else around here I posted my guess on the 2013 team being Canadian, either Hamilton or Ottawa, with the thinking being that they'll need that long to make sure they have three more US based teams lined up to join along with them. (Only 2 more US teams if St. Louis can get their sale completed.)
Various people saying NASL temp. sanctioned for a year, expecting full sanctioning in February. http://www.nasl.com/article/nasl-provisionally-sanctioned-by-ussf The whole "until February" question is answered there too. Makes sense it would have to be done at the USSF meeting officially.
Should have just posted the whole thing - we got information on next year's first games and the playoff format. MLS fans want to complain about their playoff format not rewarding the regular season success... how about 6 of 8 teams in the playoffs? lol
Well, it's pretty much a glorified league cup. Nothing wrong with that. That's how the MLS Cup was for the majority of its history. I'm sure many fans will value the regular season leader for their achievements, especially considering who the loyal fans of lower tier soccer in the US are.
Yeah, and just like old time MLS fans, we should (and will) be glad we have a league at all, regardless of playoff structure. Maybe we'll also be complaining about 10 out of 18 teams in 15 years too.
Will never happen, and you don't need to look any further than this for why - D2 standards. USL got out of the D2 race on purpose to avoid them. You can't be promoting teams into D2 and have them ignoring the USSF's D2 standards.
