We can win this group. Compare that to what we had in the past. This is more like a EL group. Bayern, Manchester City, Villareal Dortmund, Arsenal, Marseille Benfica, Dynamo Kiev, Besiktas
we beat all of those teams but Bayern at home (we drew them) so we need 9 points at home to advance, and try to beat one of Besiktas, Kiev or Benfica on the road, think our best best is Besiktas, Kiev and Benfica will be tough on their grounds
Besiktas are way better than that Trabzonspor.But they lost Jose Sosa and Mario gomez.They bought Anderson Talisca,Samir Nasri,Adriano(lb from barcelona) and aboubakar.Away game will be tough for us.
Yea we got a good draw. If we don't go through then the club should just switch to field hockey or something
While I'm happy with the draw, its not an easy one. Benfica, Kyiv and Besiktas are tough teams (especially away from home) and have sufficient firepower to beat us. That said, I do expect to go through. We've avoided world beaters. I would be disappointed if we went out but also wouldn't be surprised.
I feel like a Benitez side gets about 13 points from this group, lose away to Benfica, draw to either Kiev or Besiktas, win to either Kiev or Besiktas and win all home games Sarri did better in EL with a just as shitty EL group
I wouldn't. 2 years ago we got 1 point in 2 matches vs Dnipro in the semi-final, a Ukranian side, the Portuguese are always strong and Besiktas are no mugs either. I do expect us to go through but knowing Napoli we'll find a way to make it difficult.
That Dnipro result was a surprising result. But I see what ur saying in that we'll find some way to mess it up. I was more towards being suprised at the prospect of the 2nd best team in Italy being knocked out by 3rd placed team in the Superlig or some team from the ukranian league.
Our B team should qualify from this group. If we don't we have major problems we need to address but I don't think that will be needed.
