    Way, way back at the beginning....the music played for celebration of a goal was that old, infectious disco hit: Disco Inferno

    Burn, baby, burn! Disco Inferno!

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YH5MEyNuIM"]YouTube - Disco Inferno[/ame]

    A loop of the 15 second section starting around 1:19 - 1:34

    ________________________________________________
    ************************************************

    For the last few years, a goal has been celebrated by the gleeful 'wooo-hooo' sound from Blur's Song 2

    Wooo-hooo, wooo-hooo,...

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=936oRZXcAsw"]YouTube - Blur - Song 2 with lyrics (Whoo Hoo)[/ame]

    The first 25-30 seconds

    Does anyone know what the music is that they are playing this year?

    Also, does anyone remember any other songs that were used in the past?

    What ideas do you have for a 20-30 second clip of music to make for a good celebration?

    They also used to play the chorus to "Any Way You Want It" by Journey back in the late '90s, IIRC.

    I thought it was an odd choice for goals, but it worked.

    Wasn't the chorus from that Broadway smash hit Jason Kreis Superstar often cued?

    Wow, I have no memory of this. Every goal I remember at the Cotton Bowl as the Burn was "Disco Inferno."

    Anything other than what they are currently playing! Everyone in my party thought the song last Friday blew chunks.

    I'm kinda partial to Rage Against The Machine's first 25 seconds of Freedom, but there are parts of Jump, by House Of Pain, that would work.

    The great CJ Niehoff introduced a Rage Against the Machine loop from "Bombtrack" that was awesome. "Burn! Burn! Yes you're gonna burn Burn!," that was rolled out for at least a year after SL nut before the name change. That damn name change ruined the best goal song I ever heard.

    I guess Bulls On Parade at the 3:28 mark, would've been apropos following the rebranding.

    lolll...been some howlers as far as music selection goes throughout the years. Song 2 couldn't be anymore worn out. Its been like 15+ years and I can still turn the radio on at any given time and have high odds of hearing that damn song.

    Sleigh Bells - "Infinity guitars" is the current goal tune, irrc.

    while not the greatest - I give F.O. props for picking something current, and not along the lines of Disturbed.

    (Personally, I think the current song is a little too slow and dark for a goal celebration - and it needs a hook the crowd can hear/feel - Blur/Song 2 is from about 12 years ago, so an update is ok by me - but the current track is bringing me down and is messing with the excitement vibe for me)

    How about a song that is upbeat?
    With a lot of energy to it?
    Something infectious!

    This may not be right for us - but it has the energy, etc!

    I don't think country is the way to go either - but at least it offers this:

    The chorus

    I had no idea the Union used it. The other song you suggested is just eurobeat noise (as you know :) lol )

    I suggested the Maria song chorus because of it's clear beat / chant element at a high energy level - with a simple melodic element that could be picked up by a crowd.

    I like this - it has possibilities, wish a little punch to it somewhere in the middle of those first few seconds after the 21 mark.

    This song always gets me pumped up. (obviously would have to take the F word out of it for the game....or do we? ;))

    Do we need a goal song?
    I guess I hear the music they play after goals now (assuming they play some), but it must not make any impact on me.
    I remember Disco Inferno being played at the Cotton Bowl. Seemed like a good cheezy joke.
    My mind has successfully blocked memories of Journey being played after goals.
