Do you know more about what happened yesterday ? Why was it so difficult to obtain this score between North Korea and Mongolia?
Was the match suspended/interrupted for some hours ? For which reasons ?
    Thanks !

KUALA LUMPUR: It is roughly half the size of Southeast Asia with only a fraction of the population. Because of the severe cold, football can only be played for three months of the year.

And with only six clubs in the elite division, it is not surprising that the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) faces a difficult task promoting the sport in this wrestling-mad country.

MFF President Pinchinnyam Amarjargal is hoping AFC’s Vision Asia programme can help. On Monday, he met with AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam for a courtesy visit as well as seeking AFC’s advice on lifting football in the East Asian country.

“Vision Asia is one of the reasons I came to visit,” Amarjargal told the-afc.com. “For football in Mongolia, we have to be very realistic.

“We need better infrastructure, a more professional club structure as well as providing education for referees and coaches.”

Despite its vast size, Mongolia has a population of only about 3 million people, most of whom follow the national sport of wrestling.

The Mongolian national team have been almost invisible over the past few years.

They were supposed to compete in the qualifying competition for the previous AFC Challenge Cup but withdrew because of the MFF felt the team were not good enough.

Amarjargal said the MFA’s immediate goals were to strengthen the governing body, which includes adopting FIFA statutes, improving football infrastructure and professionalising clubs.

The MFF is one of the newer AFC members, having joined the regional governing body in 1998.

The most popular sport is still wrestling and other sport associated like Sumo and Judo. Boxing is really also important, especially since the two olympic medals. Football is becoming more and more know over the country with the TV broadcast of the 2006 World Cup for example. Only two matches have been played in Ulaan Baator. The first in 2003 against the Maldives with 2000 spectators and the second one against North Korea in 2007 with 5000 spectators. The stadium was full the two times and people are willing to come to stadium.:)

Philippine Football Federation president Mariano “Nonong” Araneta said on Friday the Mongolian federation has rejected his proposal to stage Mongolia’s “home” game in the Philippines.

The first leg will be played at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City on February 9. Mongolia moved its home game from February 16 to March 15 at the National Stadium in Ulan Bator.

Araneta, in Doha, Qatar, for the AFC Congress, said the AFC has already approved Mongolia’s move to reschedule the match because of the extremely cold weather in February.

I know the answer to this. I 'think' it's actually archery.

Does anyone know where I can find a Mongolia football shirt?

I'm trying to collect the national shirt of every country:

That's quite hard actually, I have the same problem that you have! The mongolian federation has a new website, but only in Mongolian. I saw that a english version should be available but the link does not work. For the squad it is hard to get the info, I just read on some philipin newspaper that some important players would be missing (still to confirm) but that Tugsbayar will be there. Let see...
