Sooo, as I suspected, Ousted's 2018 option would have put him into DP territory, as his option is for $600,000. http://theprovince.com/sports/socce...-happened-with-tam-and-david-ousteds-contract His contract option certainly was TAM eligible. The issue boiled down to MLS's TAM rules. No MLS team could use TAM on him unless they were signing a DP at the same time they signed Ousted. And I don't see any team signing Ousted as a DP for 2018. Guess he'll pass through the re-entry draft today, watch the 2018 option evaporate, and go from there.
LA Galaxy pursuing Perry Kitchen http://www.espn.com/soccer/la-galax...earts-captainus-international-kitchen-sources
Sorry to ruin everyone’s Christmasd, but the “deal” for Kitchen’s rights will be TAM and Zardes. Bank on it.
That's O.K. While I liked Kitchen when he played here, we can replace good American Stay-At-Home D-Mids more easily than any other position; including, good American goalies.
Well, you just ruined my Christmas, but that makes a lot of sense. Just hope the TAM is coming our way and not going out. asitis
Fantasy time tomorrow at 6:40 AM on BeIn. Get drunk early or don't sober up from tonight and indulge your fantasy that DC United is only one coach, 18 players and a packed stadium away from being Real Madrid or Barcelona. Enjoy the match
Connoisseur of exquisite soccer, single malt whiskeys, wooden sailboats, beautiful women and Italian automobiles. And broad minded enough to think MLS is a soccer league
Actually the match was at 7AM real EST and it's replaying now at 10:30 AM. As for worth it, for me? Why yes it would have been regardless of the time.
When I was in Europe a couple of weeks ago, I spent two days in Marseille, on thursday night I went see OM-RB Salzburg of Europa League; Velodrome beautiful stadium, the best I have seen around after San Siro. In the Europa League, Salzburg is simply FC Salzburg, for some reason they can not use their official denomination FC Red Bull Salzburg. And by the way, they are a good team, they kept OM on their toes for the entire game. Then friday, I went to see a French third division game, Marseille Consolat vs can't remember who; I was very surprised by the quality of the game, very quick, very few fouls, great ball skills. Compared to the Italian serie C, where the difenders bite your ankles, it was another planet. I understand now how France kicks ass at a NT level, the quality obviously comes from the bottom, and it can only get better.
Then, I saw the MLS cup in a pub in Milan, they had a viewing party after Juve-Inter, there were an initial 25 people or so (all Italians except a Cosmos guy from NY), among which the guy who keeps the website https://www.mlssocceritalia.com/, as well as Tornaghi, former Fire and Whitecaps goalkeeper who just came back home and is now looking for a team. After Juve-Inter ended, they showed MLS cup also on the second big TV and eventually the whole place was watching the game. Very fun evening (especially bcs Seattle lost)
What exactly was the announcement? PS: I had already forgotten that Nashville had been awarded an expansion team (I think).
Probably missed the dead drop where the MLS press releases get passed along to the Post for publishing. You can't get inside info of that magnitude unless you know the secret handshake
Good piece for Orlando to rebuild with. Should give nyrb tools to bring in another dangerous weapon, sadly
I don't think NYRB is going to be a big spending club again until Red Bull sell them. The days of flashy DP signings appears to be over for them.
February 8-10: Pacific Rim Cup, Honolulu, Hawaii MLS preseason action hits the islands as the Vancouver Whitecaps and Columbus Crew SC face Japanese clubs Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and Iwaki FC at Aloha Stadium. It's official: I am jealous.
