Duh? Well, this is Bueschler's, Jeffrey's, Saravas', Vincent's and Harkes' big opportunity. No complaining if you can't cut the mustard.
My point was that so far we've looked like a team that either a) sucks generally or b) sucks w/o Acosta in the lineup. Since Acosta hasn't been in and we looked a lot better last year, I'm hoping b. Thus far nobody I've seen from your list looks like they can cut kleenex, or mustard or anything else. It may be their "big opportunity", but I ponied up for season tix and would vastly prefer that whatever team (or collection of condiments) the FO puts out there looks qualified. In a battle between journeymen and Villa/Pirlo, I'm betting on the latter. Is it too much to hope that we have solid starters in most of the key positions all at once? We seem to have mastered the art of improving one area of the field only to fall down in another...
Even if it's B, we've just shown the league how to beat us. Mark Acosta tightly and let the rest of the team struggle. Of course, that would give the rest of the team more space than they've probably had the last two games so there's that!
Last game the team wasn't given space, that field was so small if everyone spread out it wouldn't have looked any different. That has to be the smallest field I've seen since the Spartan Stadium years.
That field was unbelievably tiny. Was it the same size last year? Seems like they should be able to get something bigger on that field.
If it was larger, Pirlo and Villa would have to run farther and more often. Won't happen until NYCFC goes young and high press, then, suddenly, they will find "space" within Yankee Stadium. That abomination looks like the hockey rink at the old Boston Garden that had a neutral zone about two strides long.
Fabian JOHNSON conveniently picks up a hamstring injury right before the qualifiers. What the ******** does Orozco bring at RB? I never understood why he always gets called up
Fire acquire German star, World Cup champ @BSchweinsteiger from Manchester United https://t.co/wlmsj3lFrk pic.twitter.com/nOn2Tyu68Y— Chicago Tribune (@chicagotribune) March 21, 2017 Why?
Well there's 2 things. 1st even though he's just 32, he's been playing senior football since 17 iirc. Physically he's definitely over the hill. MLS won't help him in that regard. 2. They are going to have to bench one of Juninho or Dax. They can't play all 3 together without changing their shape.
Box office. But, he's not a good fit for their players. Portland, I think, would have been a better fit for him.
There's a couple of Italians, one at Juve one at Roma who may give you a long Phhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht on your first point
Over the last 3 games we looked like Rosie O'Donnell's ass. And using those 3 games and Barca in the same analogy may in fact be a crime against soccer...
