Easy there, I never said anything about a distinction between rec and competitive soccer. That's your rant. I don't say sheet about lack of competition, apparently you got your blood up and your imagination got the best of you.
http://www.espnfc.us/new-york-city-...ason-finale-from-yankee-stadium-to-citi-field Is this a joke? Why is this team even playing in MLS? Time to share RBA with the NYRB...
All three of the teams chasing the final playoff spot in the West failed to win today. This league...
The U17 USMNT pounded Paraguay, while Colombia got trounced by Germany. Don’t have FS2 anymore but apparently Durkin had another great game. We should play our best Academy players no matter how young.
I complained about Andrew Carleton, but he had a very good game today. He provided a few assist and scored 1 of his own.
He hadn't been great in the games i watched. I didn't see this but I saw a great highlight from him today and read he played well overall.
It's crazy to me that Weah Jr. isn't representing Liberia while his father is running for President. Maybe he wants some distance from his father who is aligned with a convicted war criminal.
Grant Wahl @GrantWahl Columbus Crew owner Anthony Precourt is set to move team to Austin, Texas, in 2019 if downtown stadium can't happen in Columbus. Story soon. 9:51 PM · Oct 16, 2017
That’s at least one mistake that would be corrected. Columbus may be a USMNT city but they aren’t a very good mls city.
I’m absolutely not insane. With a centrally managed league you need to make good choices like Portland, Seattle, Atlanta and Austin would also be good. Some teams were thought to be good and were brought into the league because of the circumstances of the times. They’d have a rougher go of getting into the league today and that says something. Am I needlessly insulting Columbus? Imagine a Columbus vs Colorado mls cup final. Maybe it would break 500k viewers? Maybe? Reruns of Full House would pull better numbers. Columbus can have a glorious return some other day. With no World Cup bump and league growth determined almost solely by expanding to new markets it’s not a terrible thing.
Without Higauin they are a massively unexciting and poorly branded team. Also their stadium caught on fire. So there’s that.
MLS money men basically just plot craft beer locations in google maps and wherever the most appear or are appearing are the top choices for future soccer teams
The only reason Columbus is in the league is because they sold over 17,000 season tickets before the league got started. Putting in that stage ruined an already shakey stadium. That said, it absolutely sucks to lose your team and I feel for Columbus fans that have personal investment into the team.
