    What sanctioning does a club need from its confederation? Do you mean that Concacaf (they now use lowercase letters) wouldn't let Ottawa in the CCL?

    Apparently the exception that allows clubs to play in leagues outside their country requires approval from the associated federations, the confederation, and FIFA.

    We thought the same thing in basketball after Yao Ming played for the Rockets years ago. They haven't produced anything since. They probably need coaches from Europe or South America to develop their players.

    They have them, at least the big spending teams do, I do not know if they have many foreign coaches in their development academies, I assume they do.
