God, I want Acosta to start so badly but I fear Arena is going to use Bedoya instead.....

I expect Acosta to start vs Trinidad and Tobago.

That will be his test heading forward.

I think he's talking about when Acosta got out of pressure using a roulette spin. Such quick feet on that cuz he passed the ball out of it.

Bedoya has featured almost exclusively as a flanker for the US.

I've got Acosta and Nagbe as my starting lineup against Mexico in cm with Pulisic at the 10 and Bradley at the 6.

    --------Jozy--Deuce
    ----------pulisic
    ---nagbe----------Acosta
    -----------Bradley

If he's so skillfull, why do you think Arena is going to hide him ?

You know Arena will start Bedoya and Fabian, right?

Well it was when he did a spin moved with dribble in tight space then did some fancy pass.

Glad you have him starting, and the only reason arena would hide him is because of his age.

    Yeah, sure.o_O Good one.

That Houston /Dallas game was crap football, b.t.w.:sleep:

I did notice Acosta working on his quantitative rating. Just what we need

p.s. edit: Weird feeling can be had by reading the monumental praise of Acosta on these boards then going to MLS site to read reviews of Dallas' performance this year. Words like "ineptitude" of the attack are bandied about. But for some reason when I criticize it is, according to posters here, because of some "hate" thing. Take heart: They say things are expected to improve in Dallas when they get their midfielder back - Mauro Diaz.

As someone else said on twitter, Acosta is the best box to box midfielder in MLS. He'd also be an immediate improvement over Bradley on set pieces.

Lastly he'd be a hell of a lot more help then marco delgado

But you don't want to actually play him because of his age. Tab didn't want to play him because Delgado was better for U20's 2015. Herzog picked Trapp and Polster over Acosta. But for some reason, we are now supposed to believe that the standard is Kellyn Acosta. Doesn't that strike you as a little odd?

Yeah it does strike me as odd that the midfielder (marco) who played like ass in the u20 wc somehow has talent to play with the NT, oh and the midfielder (polster) who struggled to trap and pass the ball with the u23 is supposed to make a difference. Show me the evidence that those 2 show the prerequisite skills to play at an international level.

Acosta played FB because he could, not because Delgado is a better player(he's not).

How did those Trapp and Polster picks work out? Both gave the ball away in dangerous positions because they can't deal with quick pressing and don't make decisions fast enough to matter. But hey, we'll pretend that's not a real thing.

Acosta was also 19 at the time right? It's almost like a player can't improve over nearly 2 years. :whistling:

Another young CB, Ford, breaks through.

Surely, Morrow gets a GC call.

Ramirez has 8 goals in 12 games worth of minutes.

Nguyen looks to have found a home at striker.

NE has an interesting problem. Nguyen, Fagundez, and to a lesser extent Rowe have played better with this formation and Kamara in the lineup. Agudelo is the better forward right now, but the other three have not been great with him in this season.

Excepting the period that was the tail-end of Jermaine Jones's awesomeness, NE haven't been a consistently solid performer during the Heaps era.

In terms of player staffing, if they want to build around both Karmara and Agudelo then changes need to made in midfield and fullback personnel.

NE's biggest problem is Nguyen. He is such a game killer for his own team. He occasionally has a really nice match where he's the best player on the field, but most games he completely destroys his team's chance to win because he demands the ball at his feet all game, and is for the most part very ineffective, slowing play down, ruining good chances, turning the ball over. He is excellent at PK's though lol, if thats any consolation.

Agudelo and Kamara don't work that well off each other, but they have bigger problems than that. They'd do so much better in a regular 4-4-2 with Agudelo and Kamara as the strikers, Rowe and Fagundez as the wingers, Kouassi and Caldwell as the CM's, Nguyen on the bench or another team.

Steve Birnbaum trying to do anything to stop Larin on the set piece.

Small consolation to Birnbaum, Larin is a beast. A month ago Larin did the same thing to Jermaine Jones!

Looks like Berhalter learned from his lesson. Columbus destroyed Seattle. Nice game from Trapp who assisted on Meram's goal. Meram is someone who the NT could really use. Too bad he's already cap-tied to Iraq. He's one of the best wingers in MLS.
