Good on Vanney to give Big Ben a shot. Thought his career might be over. That was a classy heist job on Trapp. Now that Delgado is out on red card, it could make sense to call him up for qualis' and play him next to Bradley. On second thought, probably makes a little too much sense. Not happening. I'd rather see him without Nagbe and Acosta weighing him down anyway so Gold Cup would be a great opportunity. Put him in there as 6th mid with Dax, Roldan, Polster, Hyndman, Feilhaber. Delgado can play dmid in case Dax goes down or he can cover Roldan's or polster's spot. Hyndman and Benny at the 10. For quali's we could go Nagbe, Acosta, Bedoya, Zusi, Bradley, Kljestan, Pulisic
Berhalter is really getting up into the territory of one of the worst coaches in MLS. He's a bad Guardiola wannabe. He played a 4-1-4-1 yesterday with two full-backs who were turning the ball over left and right, doing no defending. I can't believe Afful actually plays for Ghana. He is so lazy, and such a bad defender. The full-back on the other side played the hospital ball under no pressure to Trapp that you could see was going the other way from a mile away. Of course, Afful on the other side of the field forgot he was responsible to defend the far side winger. You'd think Berhalter would focus on making his team more defensively solid, yet he continues to play Mensah member over Crognale and decided to play the game killing 4-1-4-1 that no team in the world has a successful defensive record with instead of playing Artur who is very good and they've looked good with. Thats just way too much defensive responsibility on Trapp, especially considering how poorly their full-backs and Mensah member defend, and flat out dumb to not play Crognale and Artur. I wonder if Berhalter will learn after a 5-0 pasting. They couldn't even defend once they went a man up.
taking out Meram for Artur 35 minutes into the game was mind boggling....Toronto played the last 20 minutes with 10 men and they still dominated them
Hamid standing on his head. What else does he need to do to get called up? Game after game, year after year. WTF have these coaches been watching? Have they taken a bathroom break every time that Birnbaum makes an error and Hamid has to bail him out? Been happening for years, yet the DC player that gets called up is Birnbaum.
Been injured at bad times. Other times, he's not beating out Howard. He's easily missed half a dozen or more camps through injury. Hamid is one of your favorites, I'm sure that you know this...
Lets start with getting called in, then we can start comparing him to Howard. Thats all I'm asking here. Klinsmann had him like 8th or 9th (behind the world class stable of Rimando, Bingham, Robles, Guzan, etc), I recall from one of his quotes towards the end of his time as NT head coach. I just hope Arena is actually watching our domestic players, and will treat them fairly. If he is, its clear as day who's deserving of a chance at the keeper position.
He was called in plenty and was injured and unavailable for call ups plenty as well. Since JK said that Hamid hadn't developed like he'd hoped, which he was right btw, you've had some weird fixation with pretending he was never called in. Hamid is a great shot stopper but still makes silly mistakes that keepers with his age and experience shouldn't.
??? He made a couple of kick saves you'd expect, was saved by the cross bar twice and conceded a PK late that should have costed them points.
