There's only one conclusion to reach from a Timbers fan without a beard. He's an alien. Hopefully, they come in peace.
Did the announcers say that Altidore plans to finish his career in Toronto? I would like to see him take one last shot in Europe, just to prove himself. I think he could be good in Italy, Ligue One, or the Bundesliga on a team that can actually hold the ball and attack, unlike Sunderland. But if he's comfortable in Toronto then it's probably not something that would interest him.
Safe to say that at his age he's done for Europe. I think he stays in Toronto until he no longer has it
I'm sure Jozy would like another crack at Europe, but only if he gets paid. And no European club is dumb enough to pay him what he gets in Toronto right now
I've seen it on television many times, and it's almost never called Toronto or Canada. Usually it's "New York."
Oh that would be because of all the tax breaks to shoot TV and movies given to studios that makes it cheaper to film here.
I see a bunch of posts in this thread about Canada and the US and have know idea why everyone gets so worked up. As as Atlanta (and Orlando fan) I say Congrats Toronto on winning MLS cup. Enjoy...
But can you really blame us for not wanting a certain part of the country to keep electing leaders that befuddle us and force us to use textbooks that deny evolution and slavery? I’m trying to put it as politely as I can.
Never thought I’d see this day - best year for Toronto sports in recent memory - we won every football competition we entered in 2017.
You must be a closet Canadian. Go back to Tim Horton's, eh! More seriously, I haven't read anything I don't interpret as good-natured ribbing. If it's more than that, then I don't see the point, either. I like our polite-speaking, igloo-dwelling, syrup-swilling, curling-loving, extra-vowel-using northern neighbours. Except James Howlett.
My first American ancestors were Mayflower pilgrims. The Canadian ones had arrived in Nova Scotia over a decade before.
I would only question if that's the exact moment for the offside decision. Hard to tell if that's the initial moment of contact with the ball. Would like to be able to move it back a frame or two and see what happens. Even from this still, half a yard surprised me. Looks closer.
Also, he was more offside earlier in the play and was curling his run back, was onside a split second later.— SoccerPhotogrammetry AKA "A Nice Gentleman" (@OffsideModeling) December 10, 2017
Now I question if the VAR was looking at the correct frame, or if he was also just fooled by the angle on the replay like I was. Likely the latter because it really doesn't look that far off. I can understand why it wasn't a clear and obvious error with the system they have: they're doing this by eye without the benefit of Hawkeye (like at the Confederations Cup) that can do this modeling in near real-time. If that system had been in place, this would have been called off, no question.
Can't really complain about one call when you played like shit most of the game. Granted, I give credit to TFC for that. Their defensive pressure never allowed Seattle to get into any kind of rhythm. And Seattle never found the open passing lanes.
You better believe it. Micheal Bradley himself said in an interview that TFC is the Bayern Munich of MLS. Meaning they spend the most and dominate. Next is the CCL.
