Dave Sarachan has a new job: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...ve-sarachan-takes-over-usls-north-carolina-fc
From USMNT to USL... Interesting to me that he took this job. Does he think he can be part of the next FCC and get back to MLS that way? Or is he just a guy that wants to coach and this is the job he could get now?
Or, option three, at this point in his career, Sarachan may be more interested in the player development side of things. The job he took with NCFC is more than just that of Head Coach for the first team, it seems he's also taking on the lead role with their player development system.
I'm excited. I actually didn't make it to a single NCFC game last year. I believe that's a first in the 12 seasons of the club. (though I did make it to 11 of 12 Courage games and countless other events at the facility). I'll miss Colin Clarke, but his time had come and gone, and Dave is actually a friend.

Sure, it's just one letter off, what's the difference? It reminds me of the time my cat got confused over a banner ad on a soccer site offering the new England jersey, as opposed to the New England jersey. Not to mention the whole Chanel Isles thing to add even more confusion, but cats are easily confused like that.
#AtlantaUnited coaching news: Am told that Guillermo Barros Schelotto wants the job, would love to get back into MLS. There was contact a couple weeks back but since he left Boca, Atlanta hasn't contacted him. #MLS Won back-to-back league titles at Boca and Copa Sud. at Lanus.— Roger Gonzalez (@RGonzalezCBS) December 18, 2018 If Atlanta still haven't contacted GBS... time for some other MLS team to swoop in for the scraps!
Ray Hudson at DC United had packed post-game press conference rooms. It was crazy. Someone, I forget who, would even bring a stopwatch and occasionally there was an informal pool on how long Ray's longest answer would be. The whole presser was never more than four or five questions - because his answers, which rarely had anything to do with the question, would go on and on and on. Though near the end, there was one presser that lasted about five seconds before he got up and left the room.
Assuming Porter gets the Columbus gig, I actually think the perfect team for GBS would be NYCFC--Dome Torrent is a mess, he should go back to Pep. He keeps going like he was, he won't see out 2019.
Stejskal: Kinnear, Porter reject Galaxy offers, so where does search go? On Wednesday, further details emerged regarding the Galaxy’s pursuit of both Kinnear and Porter. Multiple sources told MLSsoccer.com that both were offered the job. Kinnear, who took over for Schmid in September and oversaw an uptick in form but failed to guide the Galaxy to the playoffs, received the first offer. The sources said the Galaxy presented him with a one-year contract. The former San Jose and Houston manager wanted a multi-year deal, however, and, after LA didn’t increase the length of the contract, he turned them down. After their one-year offer to Kinnear was rebuffed, LA then ramped up their pursuit of Porter. A former roommate of Galaxy president Chris Klein at Indiana University, Porter was eventually offered a three-year deal by LA around the time of his night out with Klein, sporting director Dennis te Kloese and AEG CEO Dan Beckerman at the Lakers game. At that point, he had already been in discussions with Columbus. With LA in the game, Crew SC’s prospective ownership group raised their offer. The sources said they came in way over the top of the Galaxy, giving Porter a five-year deal that will pay him about $1 million per season. LA didn’t match, and Porter accepted the job in Columbus. The sources expect his appointment to be announced pending final approval of the sale of Crew SC from Anthony Precourt to a group led by Dr. Bill Edwards and Dee and Jimmy Haslam this winter.
Dave recorded an introductory piece for NCFC to distribute. The local talk radio guys (who are pretty pro-soccer) played it, and then they mocked Dave because He sounded so blasé. I’ve heard hostage videos with more excitement.
