Same kind of BULLSHIT we are going through with our owner (non caring/cheap), not going to pay for TWO coaches at the same time. The scary thing is your owner isn't cheap and if looked at the way Seattle and Atlanta are doing things, you guys could have something similar.

The Revs decline over the last few years... https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/09/14/armchair-analyst-how-deconstruct-mls-cup-contender
That article is pretty much spot on. What isn't mentioned in the part about AJ Soares is that Mikey-Mike Burns admitted to being "caught off guard" when a lowish-paid player who had turned down a previous offer, who had a European passport might move to another club who would more than double his salary.
Okay who had Jay Heaps in the pool? Sources: Jay Heaps out as New England Revolution coach The New England Revolution have parted ways with head coach Jay Heaps, sources confirmed to Goal on Monday night. The news comes after a week that saw the Revs suffer a pair of emphatic defeats, including a 7-0 thrashing against Atlanta United with New England down to nine men. Whose next on the chopping block, Jim Curtin? Ben Olsen? Adrian Heath? Sigi Schmid??
As bad as some of those coaches are I'd like to make the dark horse case for Sigi Schmid... Last year Sigi had 6W 2D 12L (1.0ppg) for Seattle before he got fired on July 26. Big DP signing Nicolas Lodeiro made his debut in Seattle's next game (July 31), and post-Sigi they were 8W 4D 2L (2.0ppg) and eventually won MLS Cup. Whenever Sigi talked about what happened, he brought up not having big DP signing Lodeiro as an excuse. So this year LA was terrible under Curt Onalfo, 6W 4D 10L (1.1ppg), firing him on July 27 and hiring Sigi. Their big DP signing Jonathan Dos Santos was signed the same day, July 27. Under Sigi, who this time got the big DP signing, LA is now 1W 2D 5L (0.6ppg)... 0.6 ppg is by far the worst any MLS team has done this season under any coach (Onalfo almost doubled that!), and that's with Dom Kinnear (how much are they paying him?) having been brought in as assistant coach too. I'm not saying LA doesn't have major problems beyond Sigi, but it certainly doesn't look like Sigi is part of the solution.
I believe Sigi has a contract for just the rest of the season. If true, no point firing him sooner. That means there's a window for Olsen and Curtin, two coaches of perpetually struggling teams who have had multiple full seasons to make and implement changes, to be removed before Sigi. And while that may seem unlikely, remember that Cassar, Kinnear, Mastroeni, Onalfo, and Heaps were all fired since this season began. There's a good chance two to five more changes (Olsen, Curtin, Sigi, Kreis, Heath) are made by this off-season--a 30-40% turnover rate. Most Game of Thrones seasons have lower mortality rates.
Jim Curtin has earned 139 points in 115 matches with the Philadelphia Union. Year: W - L - T (PPG) - GF/GA 2014: 7 - 5 - 6 (1.5) - 29/24 2015: 10 - 17 - 7 (1.09) - 42/55 2016: 11 - 14 - 9 (1.24) - 52/55 2017: 8 - 12 - 9 (1.14) - 37/39 Total: 36 - 48 - 31 (1.21) - 160/173 Curtin's first 11 matches: 6 - 2 - 3 (1.91 PPG) Curtin's last 104 matches: 30 - 46 - 28 (1.13 PPG) John Hackworth earned 89 points in 73 matches: 23 - 30 - 20 (1.22 PPG) Peter Nowak earned 87 points in 75 matches: 21 - 30 - 24 (1.16 PPG)
Biello at Mtl looks to be on the hot seat, with Mtl almost a toast http://www.tsn.ca/impact-looking-for-better-showing-against-tfc-1.859852
Great, Piatti is like one of my top five favorite players in MLS, so of course not only have the Impact not re-signed him beyond this season, but they're pissing him off... (facepalm)
It's official: Revolution Part Ways with Head Coach Jay Heaps STATEMENT FROM OWNERSHIP We will immediately begin a search for a new head coach and are committed to seeing the New England Revolution once again return to championship contention. What are the odds their "search" consists of interim head coach Tom Soehn being given the job on a permanent basis at the end of the season?
Veljko Paunović If the FIRE doesn't somehow qualify for the playoffs or if they sneak in as the 6th seed.
You're right, I'm just sick of Sigi's excuses... the results over the last two seasons speak for themselves. 2016 Sounders Sigi Schmid: 1.0 PPG Brian Schmetzer: 2.0 PPG 2017 Galaxy Curt Onalfo: 1.1 PPG Sigi Schmid: 0.6 PPG
Speculation from the Heaps thread... Really, George Mason? Not Stanford or a half-dozen other programs with plenty of recent success? What has George Mason done at the collegiate level for their coach to be the next to go college-to-MLS after Caleb Porter who turned Akron into a powerhouse?
Denver Post: Rapids coaching search: Colorado makes contact with at least 4 candidates Colorado Rapids hope to have a coach in place by the beginning of November A league source told The Denver Post that the Rapids have made contact with former Venezuela national team coach César Farías, former Norwegian national team player and Blackburn Rovers manager Henning Berg, Stanford University coach Jeremy Gunn and Columbus Crew SC assistant coach Josh Wolff.
MLSsoccer.com says that why they have talked to those 4 they are not the short list. Goal is to have somebody hired by Nov 1st. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...-head-coach-candidates-target-nov-1-hire-date And shoot me now if we hire Henning Berg.
MLS: With Jay Heaps' departure, 2017 breaks MLS record for coaching turnover Progress... although somehow Jim Curtin is still employed.
Revs: We all share blame for Heaps' firing Yeah, Robert and Jonathan Kraft, Brian Bilello, Mike Burns....
Sigi Schmid update after tonight's 4-0 loss... 2016 Sounders Sigi Schmid: 1.0 PPG Brian Schmetzer: 2.0 PPG 2017 Galaxy Curt Onalfo: 1.1 PPG Sigi Schmid: 0.55 PPG 9 games, 1W 2D 6L... 5 GF 19 GA, -14 GD Without that 3-0 win over lowly Colorado, those numbers would make him the Vadim Demidov of coaches....
Ah, Sigi. We thank you for your service. You helped the development of soccer in this country and MLS. But you're playing a polka in a hip hop world. It's time Problem is... is Kinnear head coach in waiting? Is that better?
Considering the shitshow of a roster Sigi inherited, including millstones of DPs, it's too far early to say Sigi is obsolete as an MLS coach. It'll all depend on who he signs off season and if LA can be at least borderline playoff team next season.
