Week 20 was intense! El Traffico and Cascadia rivalries delivered great games and drama. What will week 21 bring us in MLS? As always all game times are eastern. National TV games are noted. Otherwise you can watch them on your local affiliate or on ESPN+. This safe space, keep it neutral. No rivalry shenanigans. Friday, July 26 NYC vs SKC 7:30 PM LAX vs ATL 10:00 PM ESPN Saturday, July 27 NER vs ORL 7:00 PM NYR vs CBS 7:30 PM CHI vs DCU 8:00 PM FCD vs RSL 8:00 PM HOU vs SEA 8:00 PM MNU vs VAN 8:00 PM MTL vs PHL 8:00 PM TFC vs FCC 8:00 PM SJE vs COL 10:00 PM POR vs LAG 10:30 PM FS1
In the meantime, the Caps continue their season of absolute suck. They lost at home tonight to the Calvary FC of Calgary 2-1 to be eliminated from the Voyageurs Cup. While Calvary may be the best CPL team, it still is a total embarrassment.
How is it possible that in a country this size there are 10 games and you can only watch at most 2 from opening kickoff to final whistle without overlap? You can get in the second half of one of the 8pm games as well.
I think that late national TV game at Portland forced a lot of the other western conference games to be earlier. I know a Houston home game at 7 pm CDT (8 EDT) this time of year is really unusual. Most of our weekend home games are at 8 pm CDT in the summer.
I mean, I appreciate it because I have to be at work at 8am Sunday, but it will be noticeably hotter for sure.
My complaint isn’t that LAFC v Atlanta is on national TV. That’s a match I WANT to see. My complaint is that since we all knew this was going to happen, maybe the previous week instead of showing us Atlanta AGAIN and DC United AGAIN, maybe show us RSL v Minnesota. Or Vancouver v San Jose. RSL and SJ are right in the thick of it and don’t get a lot of national play. Stop force-feeding me the same teams every week.
Espinoza may be gone on VAR. Well, that is a new one. Espinoza was gone on a second yellow. Gantar goes to VAR and gives him a straight red instead.
You know, I've seen that in Europe because serious foul play is 3 games, but I figured MLS wouldn't bother because the suspension is 1 game regardless.
Yeah, but there is a slight difference between the two, even in MLS. Dont ask me to explain it though.
I think it allows for easier supplementary punishment. If it is a second yellow the threshold is higher for adding an additional game. Also, SKC pulls one back and almost grab an equalizer through Gerso.
[QUOTE="KCbus, post: 38012434, member: 11889" Stop force-feeding me the same teams every week.[/QUOTE] Here, Here! To the uninitiated soccer fan, they watch ESPN or FOX Sports for MLS, and they'd come away thinking there were only 8 or 9 teams in the league (SEA, PORT, both LA's, ATL, both NY's, DC with an honorable mention going to SKC)! New England have turned things around since Bruce came to Foxboro. After a sluggish start, San Jose looks like the real deal. Philadelphia is the surprise leader in the East and Montreal, despite some horrible losses, is in contention for a home game in the playoffs. Yet, we never get to see these guys on national television. Heck, ESPN, NBCSN, and CBSSN show mid-major college teams during football and basketball season. MLS needs to take a cue from that.
