On Manotas’esses goal, I think Attinela saved initially with his RIGHT and the put it in swiping with his LEFT. Edited for not knowing my right from left. I may also be seeing it incorrectly.
I'm at BBVA for HOUvPOR. Some good chances so of course the one actual goal was sort of garbage. Thanks to the half of the referee crew that follows me on Twitter for the *eleven* complimentary tickets, ten of which I had no use for and arrived too late to offload.
TFC have been sitting in DC's end the entire game. They have done nothing with all that possession. No penetration, no dangerous combination play, nothing. Pretty embarrassing.
And how embarrassing do you think it is for DC fans watching their team not be able to get out of its own half?
I still miss Marco DiVaio, one of my favorite all-time MLS players, if only because the guy was such a ridiculously lethal finisher that he had a mediocre Montreal side drawing and winning games they had no business even being in. Now we get all this tactical talk about strikers who “stretch the defense” and press the CBs in possession but can’t hit the side of a barn from any distance and sh*t themselves in 1v1s with the keeper. I’m hoping Brian Fernandez has ice water in his veins as a finisher, we need more of those in this league, I’m tired of strikers who are just tactical pieces out there at the service of their midfielders.
Why are all of those players crowded around Acosta and not trainers? I hate this stuff. He's probably fine, but I hate seeing injured players crowded. There's no reason for that.
Even TFC fan boy Steven Caldwell is being honest enough to say everyone but Pozuelo sucks for TFC. DC are getting a point on the road. Not what their fans want to see, but some starters got some rest and they got an away point. What is Greg Vanney possibly going to say to spin this post game?
