First one I'm iffy on (need another replay). The last one isn't under the current PRO rules. His hand is out, but it is in the process of jumping, and hits him from behind. He doesn't move the hand towards the ball at all because he doesn't even see it.
So in the last extratime podcast they mentioned numerous times about how if the Sounders Center Backs get drawn out chasing LAFC would punish them. But the Sounders CB's stepping up and keeping the pressure tight has not allowed LAFC's players receiving the ball deep to do anything.
For the 2nd year in a row, the team that sets the all-time MLS points record will lose in the Conference Finals. This time with a straight-up home game advantage. MLS. It's FANtastic!
You know what, Seattle is showing championship calibre play here so I really wouldn't complain about their worthiness. If Toronto does the deal in our house tomorrow night then hard to knock their credentials, too.
Feeling a tiny bit for LAFC fans but loving Seattle's grit here. I was in the Seattle area recently for the first time and loved it. So biased a bit, yeah.
This was an absolutely MONSTROUS effort by Seattle. They could have scored 5 or 6 in this game and basically bossed the whole contest.
Toronto in the final on ABC is a colossal existential disaster for MLS. It might become the lowest rated live event in ABC's history! We'll never get the final on a major channel again!!!
Or you could ask Vela about Bob Bradley's teams not showing up in big games. Either way works for me.
Brian Schmetzer is one hell of a good coach. He's just so humble and self-effacing that people don't pay enough attention. This was a perfect game plan.
Like Schmetzer's comment about Seattle knowing what it was liked to get knocked out on your home field.
Of course, the game tomorrow is now against game 7 of the World Series. Though, I don't think people in Atlanta will care World Series on Fox and East Conference MLS on FS1.
