...and then they brilliantly get the fans to tag themselves and link social media accounts to the image.

The 10,986 number for Chicago is actually a good sign (well, sort of). The stadium was really half full. Haven't seen that in a very long time. The Fire organization is using Bridgeview as a scapegoat for current low attendance. That will continue for the rest of the season.
We always get a sellout or close to it due to the youth tournament on the fields around the Dick all weekend.
Wednesday's attendances: 42,703 in Atlanta 11,966 in Montreal 14,201 in Washington, DC 14,207 in Chester, PA 19,979 in Kansas City Average -- 20,611
Because of this, sports teams know more about their crowds than ever in history. As such, they can tailor events, specials, etc. towards desirable demographics to maximize game-day income.
14k tickets sold so far for USA vs Jamaica in DC... game is on Wednesday. At least they're breaking 10k again...
A midweek game with USSF pricing between a team put together for a day or two against Jamaica... I'll be there.
obviously nothing to worry about that, Atlanta is top of the world in attendance. However if I am Atlanta FO I will start doubting the "ceiling" on attendance and the number of games with full capacity. Much like Seattle has done.
Nothing at all to worry about yet. Just puts a damper on some people's ambition to sell the whole stadium for a season.
67000 is very close to the soccer capacity without standing room. They very likely sold all the tickets they made available. 71000 is the capacity for football. Soccer capacity is at least a couple thousand less due to the rolling back of stands in the corners. Yes they have had larger attendance games but they appear to be making less tickets available this year.
