But we've got 9 more cup finals coming up. Gotta rest some of our players, otherwise they'll get exhausted.

Aw c'mon. Give Burnsie a break! He was down on the cape for a week. He got a good deal on a house rental in Chatham, so you can't expect him to pass that up.

Not bad. At least they didn't call them "Miami FC" or "United."

You can argue that "Inter" is just as Euro-posey, but overall, not bad. Much better than the '90s trend of singular names or 2-word names like "RiverDawgzzz" or something that purposefully uses a cutesy spelling.

I love how the graphic designer dug deep into Wikipedia to try to find some sort of ancient symbolism to represent a circle. C'mon, it's a circle. Just because the Australopithecus hunter-gatherers understood that if you draw a curved line, it eventually becomes a circle. The heron legs making an "M" is pretty cool. So does that mean they are going to sign our old friend Andy Heron? Makes sense, after all, Miami is full of old people....

Pink is a bold color choice. I like the herons, and miami is among the most "inter" places in the us so they can have it.

The example of typically over-the-top marketing jargon that I found most amusing was...

"The sun's seven rays... symbolize the seven seas that bring people to Miami from the seven continents."

Yes, Miami has long drawn drawn scores of immigrants and visitors alike from... Antarctica.:laugh:

Hey, they will probably sign a penguin as a DP to tap into that rabid ethnic Antarctic community. No, wait that was so 1996. Never mind...

LAG is only 3 points out of a playoffs spot, but they only have 6 games left, the 3 teams above them all have games in hand, and LAG has a tough schedule:
    @TOR, SEA, VAN, @SKC, @MIN, HOU

More importantly, the toast thread has declared them toast.

I knew a graphic designer and he told a story about his first day in art school. Their assignment was to place a black dot on a white sheet of paper. No other elements, put it anywhere you want. And then explain why you put it there.

You can see this kind of thinking in all the recent MLS design unveilings. The Crew's checkerboard is not just some lazy-ass use of clip-art, it symbolizes the rich, vibrant mosaic of culture in Central Ohio, where the local delicacies include both meat and cheese. Miami's use of a circle signifies the Circle of Life, but that's from the Lion King, and that team up the road would get upset if we tried to co-opt their thing, so let's blame it on the Australopithecus, since, unlike Houston 1836, there aren't any of them left to complain how "insensitive" it is.

Call me old-fashioned, but if you have to explain your design, then your logo isn't doing it's job...

QPR have been dreadful defensively this season, and they didnt want him. I am skeptical that this move would make a team better

Playoff race is heating up with most teams having 5-6 left in the season.

Revs are currently 8th in the East (including in PPG). TFC is getting closer to us as well.

Revs have 3 left at home, 3 on the road.

Montreal is 5 points up on us in the last playoff spot, with 5 games left, 3 at home.

DC is above us by one point, with 6 games left, 5 at home, 1 on the road.

I think the playoff hopes are really low at this point, but if a miracle happens, we do play Montreal in the season finale.

Also posted in the "Where are they now" thread, but San Jose fired their coach and Steve Ralston is taking over on an interim basis. Good for him!

I remember Jurgen from his Revs days, he's a good guy, and was always willing to jump in on a moment's notice to act as a media translator for Spanish speaking players. The article lists a pretty impressive soccer resume, but he left the Revs to take a media role with a certain high profile blue-and-orange baseball team in New York.
