Looks like Porter is out in Portland. I guess winning the West wasn't good enough. http://www.espnfc.us/major-league-s...imbers-coach-after-first-place-finish-reports
Sounds like he was not fired, but quit: Reports: Caleb Porter parts ways with Portland Timbers after five seasons November 17, 2017, 6:11AM EST Simon Borg
Thanks for the clarification. I got the first sentence correct. The article I read just said he was out, so I assumed - I know bad - that he was let go.

Atlanta adds Nagbe. Atlanta adds another playmaker! They acquire Darlington Nagbe from Portland for up to $1.65 million in allocation money. pic.twitter.com/zKvkxxaojy— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) December 13, 2017
So they basically bought him, but for MLS money, not cash. Just like Vancouver bought Kamara from us, but all we got was a bag of magic beans...
No, it's not just like our trade with Vancouver for Kamara. You can call GAM and TAM "MLS money" but in reality it's real money with caveats. It's far more useful than the drat picks we acquired for Kamara.
Yet another Atlanta target, he's only 18. But remember, BKIASB. #Independiente Barco: "Quiero disfrutar, después se verá mi futuro": https://t.co/4Pc0ZUkCEw pic.twitter.com/6d0VWW7A7X— TyC Sports (@TyCSports) December 14, 2017
Yeah, that was my point. If we got TAM, GAM, or whatever else, that would be one thing, but this isn't the NBA or NFL where an early draft pick will get you a quality player. We basically gave him away, with the assumption that they are taking his entire salary.
https://www.angelsonparade.com/2017...aldes-sporting-club-rio-ave-designated-player Same Sporting Club the Revs have an agreement with?
One and the same. Although if this player has only played for the Sporting reserves, yet LA2 wants to make him a DP, that doesn't bode well for the Revs getting a player from Sporting.
Done deal. It’s official: Portland Timbers name Giovanni Savarese new head coach December 18, 2017, 1:05PM EST Charles Boehm
