Tough night for FS1 last night, as both games of the doubleheader were scoreless.

so I am watching RSL v Minn right now. Must say I'd rather see the football lines than the god awful red and yellow M at the center circle and the red and yellow Minnesota across the 6 at each end

While LA is winning in Vancouver at the half, so far all final results have favored the home teams (except for one tie). Goals for home teams (final games) are 16-7 in just 6 games. Wow.

Yeah, that's pretty ugly, especially the end zones. They washed over the FB lines, but I guess those marks are plastic fibers that are actually in those colors. Maybe some green paint would make it look less-bad?

But the difference between them and us and our FB lines is that in a couple of years, they will be playing in a beautiful new urban stadium with a grass field and we will still be in our soul-less concrete edifice in a suburban shopping mall.

My understanding is that Petke's first game is actually next weekend. He didn't prepare for the MNU match so he didn't manage it, the interim manager did; not sure if he was on the sidelines or not.

That's what I had read too, but the box score listed Petke as the manager, so I thought maybe he decided to start early.

Thanks for clarifying. Makes sense though. RSL certainly played like they were under the command of a lame duck...

I am really interested to see him play in MLS. I went to see him spring of 2013 in Brest. Except for that 1/2 season with JJ, I've never felt this Heaps coached Revs team was/is much better, if at all, than that Stade Brestois 29 team that got relegated. It was either a French Cup or Cup of the League match.

Of course, he had a great team around him (PSG), but he was an animal. Guys bounced off him plus he has vision and can pass/dribble. I do think French refs are better than MLS but still expect him to have an impact for LA even 3-4 years later. I did not find him selfish and felt he made the players around him better.

Dallas hearts broken in injury time last night, as they had a 1-2 scoreline (3-3 aggregate) but gave up an injury time goal to be knocked out of the CCL.

MLS is waking up big time to Guaranis!
Yes, but he's very undisciplined and I question his maturity.

I'm disappointed that he's never been able to make a mark with the USNT - I think he's got the physical ability and skills, but not the head for it.

Watched Philly and NYCFC last night. Philly's first touch was awful. For anybody who knows a little about soccer, that was not a showcase game for MLS. For the anti-MLS crew, that game was a prime example of how the MLS is not on the same level of the big European leagues.

Except for Villa's 50 yard goal. Gorgeous!

I really don't like the LA version of Jones. He's become quite a douchebag since he left the revs. Not specifically for selling a red but just the things he's said. Or, maybe I took my rev tinted glasses off and he's been an ahole his whole career.

I'm going with Revs' tinted glasses. I don't think he has changed much over the years.

JJ is the classic "love him when he's on your team, hate him when he's not" kind of guy.
