I got a soft pretzel for the first time. Not too bad. ... In serious and related news, after all the complaints about lines getting into the stadium and waiting for food during the debut match, they essentially doubled the staff levels this time and lines were well within normal event parameters, I'd say. Took me only 10 minutes during halftime to get two waters and said pretzel.
Does anyone know why the Gate nearest the north on the STH parking isn't used to let us in?? I know it's the smoking Gate but I would love to use that gate to get in

I'm not 100% certain of official capacities this year. Were 8 out of the 11 games sellouts? If so, that's great! And even if wasn't quite eight, 7 sellouts in one weekend is still amazing considering where this league came from. It's like MLS is now a mature North American sports major league or something.
That video is relaxing. I can feel my blood pressure lowering. I think I need to take it with me when I commute around DC
clear sellouts by any measure were Atlanta, Portland, Orlando, KC, RSL, and Portland. Seattle had a great crown obviously but probably can't call these true sellouts any more if they are really letting in anyone who wants a ticket. Not having a sellout and having 45k fans is a problem every team should have. Dallas may have been a sellout, it looked packed but I have no idea because of the construction what capacity is this year. Unless Vancouver lowered capacity from last year, they did not have a sell out this week.
Thanks Olagunner for the attendance figures and average. How are we doing on the season? I really miss the old attendance figures with all the data. Very sad they no longer exist
No takers on my little research question? There can't have been very many if any other times we have had 2 45k+ games in the same weekend (like I said, outside of 4th of July games or double headers). I wouldn't know where to start trying to research this.

Montreal had 60k the same day Seattle had 40k in 2012. That was as close as I could find from a super quick search Given your exclusions, it may have never happened before where we had two teams get over 45k the same weekend. Wiki has a list of the highest attended (non double header) games. Maybe you could start there and see if there is any overlap with another game that hit 45k the same weekend. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Soccer_attendance#Individual_game_highest_attendance
It used to be that if you took an outlier like Seattle out of the picture, solid MLS attendance average would look very meh. But take Atlanta and Seattle home games out of the picture and MLS attendance still cracks 20,000 at 20,134. This league is a grown-up now. It has graduated college and is making a living in the business world these days. My, how fast the years went by.
Thanks for the info. The wiki page only lists the top 17 so the lowest one on that list is 60k. None overlap. I would guess it is highly unlikely there have been 2 45k or higher in the same weekend/week. 2015 opening weekend was close. Orlando had 62k and Seattle had 39k.
RSL may be on the verge of struggling with attendance. It is softening there. Fewer absolute sell-outs and lots of no-shows for games.
Bobby Dodd Stadium has two big problems. Both of the main sidelines are constrained terribly. The East side stands are constrained by Techwood Drive. The stadium is literally about a 10 foot sidewalk away from the street. The upper deck overhangs that sidewalk, if I remember correct. The West side stands are constrained by two buildings. One is Lyman Hall, where I did chemistry labs when I was a student there. So, as you can see at this link the the north stand is incredibly large in capacity because they could tear down an ancient gymnasium that was structurally dying. https://www.google.com/maps/place/A...fede2f990b630b!8m2!3d33.7489954!4d-84.3879824
